The Mahindra BE.05, set to launch in October 2025, has been spotted undergoing tests as the company fine-tunes its equipment and range. This electric SUV aims to compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki eVX, Hyundai Creta EV, and Tata Curvv EV.
The BE.05 SUV features a striking design with a wide front end, C-shaped LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, large air dams, and bumper-mounted fog lamps. Its squared-off wheel arches and large wheels provide a muscular stance, while flush-fitting door handles and A-pillar-mounted ORVMs add to its sleek look. The rear showcases connected LED taillamps and a split spoiler for a sporty appearance.
The interior offers a sophisticated feel with an all-black cabin accented by silver details and a piano black center console. The split grey finish between the passenger and driver areas creates a cockpit-like ambiance. The floating center console includes storage underneath, a tall gear lever, push start/stop button, wireless charger, cup holder, and a rotary dial for infotainment control. A twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo and touch-capacitive controls is a standout feature. The dashboard boasts twin displays, AC vents, and a center console armrest. Additional features include a frameless IRVM, pull straps on doors instead of conventional handles, and grey fabric upholstery.
The BE.05 measures 4370 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1653 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2775 mm and a ground clearance of 205 mm. It is expected to come with a 79 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a range of 450-500 km. The SUV will be available in both 2WD and 4WD options. The 2WD version will have a rear-mounted motor producing 284 BHP and 535 NM torque, while the 4WD version will feature dual motors with a front-mounted motor generating 108 BHP and 135 NM torque.
Anticipated features include ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360 Surround View Camera, a Panoramic Sunroof, and 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and digital cluster. Front ventilated seats, powered front seats, an electric parking brake with auto hold, dual-zone climate control, hill descent control, and 7 airbags are also expected to be part of the offering. There’s a good chance that when Mahindra launches its electric SUV, it’ll compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki eVX, Hyundai Creta EV, and its arch-nemesis, Tata Curvv EV which launched today from Rs. 17.49 Lakhs. The BE.05 is expected to launch in October 2025 from Rs. 20 – Rs. 30 Lakhs.
With its impressive design, advanced features, and competitive pricing, the Mahindra BE.05 SUV is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. As Mahindra continues to refine and test this model, the BE.05 promises to be a strong contender among its rivals, offering a blend of performance, style, and innovation that will appeal to a broad range of consumers.
