Mahindra is set to launch a new electric SUV in India, featuring significant upgrades compared to its base model, the XUV700. The upcoming SUV known as the XUV e8 is expected to offer two battery pack options, delivering a range of 400 to 500 km along with fast-charging capabilities. Additionally, the SUV will likely be officially name as XEV.8e given the XUV.e9 was renamed as XEV.9e.
The Mahindra XEV 8e closely resembles its ICE counterpart, the XUV700, especially in its side and reat profile. The main visual distinction in the electric variant is its exclusive alloy wheel design. At the front, the XEV 8e sports a bold DRL arrangement stretching along the bonnet in an inverted L-shape, lending it a unique character. The rear appears to have the tail-lamps design as similar to the ICE version.The XEV.8e interior boasts a futuristic triple-screen setup spanning the dashboard, building on the XUV700’s dual-screen layout with an added passenger display. Flanked by AC vents, this design, usually seen in luxury cars like Mercedes and Porsche, brings premium tech to the mass segment. Each display likely to be 12.3-inch screen that runs on Mahindra’s Adrenox software. Additional highlights include a new two-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel with illuminated logo, switchgear retained from the XUV700, such as HVAC and center console controls, with this layout also set to feature in its coupe-SUV counterpart, the XEV.9e. Moreover, it’s likely we’ll 3 configurations for this SUV – 5, 6, and 7 Seater Configurations.

Mahindra have recently started teasing two new SUVs, BE 6e and XEV 9e. The XEV.9e is a coupe SUV based on the XUV700 while the BE.6e is a new SUV, and both of these SUV will make it’s debut on November 26th. Now, Mahindra had earlier had said the XEV.8e will launch in December 2024, while we don’t know if the plan’s have changed or not, it’s possible it may still launch in December 2024, other wise we may see it in the first quarter of 2025.
