Mahindra is preparing a new SUV to take on its competitors, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter to unleash chaos in this Micro SUV Segment.
Mahindra’s Micro SUV: What will it have?
Mahindra had trademarked XUV1XO which is likely for a small, more affordable SUV than the recently launched XUV3XO SUV. The XUV1XO will have design language similar to the XUV3XO like C-shaped LED DRLs, Projector Headlamps which may be Halogen, both headlamps joined by a black element with chrome lining, lower air intake design will be somewhat reminiscent of the XUV3XO.

Side Profile will see 15-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles, functional roof rails on top, and Pillar-mounted door handles, and square-ish shape wheel arches. Rear Profile would likely see XUV700-like tail-lamps connected by LED Light Bar, black-finish bumpers, roof spoiler with shark fin antenna on top, rear wiper with washer, etc.
Under the hood, the XUV1XO is expected to be powered by the 1.2 L Turbo Petrol which will be taken from the XUV3XO’s lower trims, meaning it won’t have 128 BHP and 230 – 250 NM Torque, but instead it’ll have 109.96 BHP and 200 NM Torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox (AMT) Gearbox. However, it’s unlikely Mahindra will offer Diesel option with the SUV.
In Features, we expect it to have Automatic Climate Control, 10.25-inch Infotainment System, 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Cluster, Single-Pane Sunroof, although its possible the top-trim may get panoramic sunroof, Rear AC vents. As for Safety, 6 Airbags as standard, TPMS, Hill Start Assist, 360 Surround View Camera, and so on.
The SUV is expected to launch in late 2025 at around Rs. 6.5 Lakhs.
