This highly anticipated electric SUV has been spotted undergoing tests multiple times, revealing several key and exciting details. As Mahindra’s pioneering venture into the coupe SUV segment, the XUV.e9 is poised to make headlines globally.

The XUV.e9 boasts a striking exterior, featuring two large, vertically positioned L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) connected by a full-width light bar. This design is reminiscent of the XUV.e9 concept. The headlamps follow a twin-pod layout with similar lighting elements. The SUV’s bonnet showcases distinctive cuts and contours, adding to its bold look. Other notable exterior features include 5-spoke aero-design alloy wheels, rear door handles located on the C-pillar, and flush door handles on the front doors, akin to the XUV700. These design elements contribute to its sleek and modern profile.
Inside, the XUV.e9 is designed to impress. It features a wide binnacle across the dashboard, housing three screens. These likely include an infotainment touchscreen at the center, a digital instrument cluster on the right, and a dedicated media display for the front passenger. The EV also comes with a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo, a touch-sensitive HVAC control panel, and a center console similar to the XUV700. Additional luxuries include a panoramic sunroof and more.

Built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, specific powertrain details haven’t been disclosed yet. However, it’s anticipated have an 60 – 80 kWh battery pack like the XUV.e8, offering an impressive claimed range of 600 km on a single charge.
The XUV.e9 is packed with advanced features to enhance comfort, safety, and convenience. It’s expected to include a 3-zone climate control system, ventilated and powered front seats, and a powered tailgate. For safety and driver assistance, it offers Level 2 ADAS with over 10 functions, hill descent control, an electric parking brake with auto hold, a 360 surround view camera, and seven airbags. The SUV also features a 4WD drive system, ensuring better control and stability. These features collectively make the XUV.e9 a standout choice in the premium electric SUV segment.

Mahindra plans to launch the XUV.e9 in April 2025, following the XUV.e8, which is set to debut in December 2024. The XUV.e9 is expected to priced a bit more over the XUV.e8 at around Rs. 32 Lakhs, making it a premium option in the electric SUV segment.
The XUV.e9, Mahindra’s first premium coupe SUV, is set to launch before the BE.05. This new electric vehicle, based on the XUV700, will pose a significant challenge to its rival, the Harrier EV, which is scheduled for release a few months earlier.
