In India, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has gone on sale. The automobile comes with a tonne of new amenities and a new engine in its new guise. While the badge has long held the top rank in its sector, the Renault Kwid has emerged as a formidable opponent, frequently appearing in second place. Here is how the two compare to one another on paper.

The Alto K10 is the smaller of the two vehicles, as seen in the table above. The vehicle is built on the 5th generation Heartec platform in its updated guise. It falls short of the 201mm minimum requirements for length, breadth, and wheelbase. The Alto K10, meanwhile, is 46mm taller when seated. Additionally, there is a substantial difference in boot capacity, with the Kwid having a benefit of 165 litres over the Alto K10.
We compared the Alto K10 to the Kwid’s corresponding model because the Alto K10 only has a 1.0-litre engine available. On paper, the Alto K10 matches the Kwid’s power output but falls short when it comes to torque. Both vehicles offer both manual and automatic powertrain choices.

The freshly released Alto K10 has 13-inch wheels, flap-style door handles, and two sweptback halogen headlamps. Front power window controls, a redesigned steering wheel with steering-mounted audio, and Bluetooth controls are added to the inside. The Maruti Smart Studio infotainment system, which supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto, is included, as well as a digital instrument cluster. Additional features include 4 speakers, USB ports, and central locking with a remote key. It has dual airbags, rear parking sensors, speed-sensing auto door locks, ABS, and EBD for safety.
The MY22 Kwid has dual-tone flex wheels and silver streak LED DRLs. A recent upgrade made the load limiter and seat belt Pyrotech standard across all grades. Reverse parking sensors, a camera with instructions, dual front airbags, ABS, and seatbelt reminders all contribute to safety.

Alto’s interior features include a digital speedometer, a distance to empty gauge, average and instantaneous fuel consumption, a driver and co-driver sun visor, a parcel tray in back, and co-driver seating. + Rear Assist Grips, Front Console Utility Space, Front Map Pockets, Silver Accent Inside Door Handle, Silver Accent on Steering wheel/Side Louvers, and Centre Garnish. There is a considerable gap of Rs 75,000 between the starting prices of these two cars. However, the Alto K10’s base model is extremely basic and doesn’t even have air conditioning. The following LXI variation is comparable to the base RXL Kwid in that both share similar pricing and equipment. The prices of the top models of both automobiles are comparable, with the Kwid costing somewhat more. But you also get greater equipment with the extra cash.
