Baleno Hybrid is Maruti’s 1st and segment first BS-VI compliant car and comes with class leading fuel efficiency.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the mild hybrid petrol variant of Baleno hatchback in India.It is slightly more fuel efficiency than what the 1.2 L petrol engine churns out.
Currently, Maruti is keeping the petrol hybrid variant only in Delta and Zeta trims.These BS-VI compliant costs Rs. 90,000 – Rs. 1 Lakh more than non hybrid petrol variants.The petrol mild hybrid variants are paired to 5 speed manual gearbox as of now while missing out on CVT option.
The Delta petrol hybrid variant costs Rs. 7.25 lakhs while the Zeta trim is priced at Rs. 7.86 Lakhs.(Ex-Showroom).At this price point, Delta hybrid is 89,000 premium than standard Delta petrol while the Zeta variant is 1 Lakh expensive when compared to Zeta 1.2 L Petrol model.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has also announced the prices of BS-VI complaint K12B 1.2 L petrol engine as well as dual jet 1.2-litre K12C engine which comes with smart hybrid technology for lower emissions and better mileage.Both these BS-VI complaint variants will make way to NEXA dealerships soon.
The K12B petrol engine will also be made BS-VI compliant.Both the manual as well as the CVT trims will be a part of this.The price difference between the BS-IV and BS-VI petrol variants is upto Rs. 19,000.Here is a list of new prices.

Features of Dual Jet Mild Hybrid BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre engine
This engine churns out segment best fuel efficiency of 23.87 kmpl which is around 2kmpl more fuel efficient than K12B petrol unit.Along with this, it offers improved combustion and reduced friction.It comes with li-ion battery for better mileage.This engine not only has got good mileage figures but also is powerful than K12B unit as it makes 89 BHP of power and 120 NM of torque.
The hybrid petrol system has three functions – torque assist that provides entry stored in lithium ion battery assists during acceleration which helps in delivering better performance without compromising on mileage, Idle Start Stop function basically results in better fuel economy as it shuts the engine at idle and Brake Energy Regeneration that intelligently charges the batter at the time of braking.Maruti have managed to make this engine BS-compliant by reducing the load on petrol engine along with the addition of mild hybrid unit.
