Maruti Suzuki released a press statement revealing that the India’s best-selling sub 4 Meter sedan, Dzire crossed 25 lakh sales milestone in over 15 years.

The Dzire sedan was launched back in 2008 which was based on the hatchback Swift. It was introduced as sub compact sedan in India for people to buy the car have a little premium feeling at a affordable price, but later has the time and regulations changed, the Dzire dimensions were reduced to sub 4 meter while keeping it affordable for people. The Dzire achieved 25 Lakh Customers in 15 years since then accounting to market share of 50%.

The Dzire first crossed 1 Lakh Sales in FY 2009 – 10, 5 Lakh Sales in FY 2012-13, 10 Lakh Sales in FY 2015 – 16, 15 Lakh Sales in FY 2017 – 18, 20 Lakh Sales in FY 2019 – 20, and 25 Lakh Sales in FY 2023 – 24. Despite buyers preferring SUV over sedans, the Dzire stood its ground and still managed to pull in incredible numbers in sales.

The 2023 Maruti Dzire packs features such as LED Projector Automatic headlamps, cruise control, auto folding rear view mirrors, 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, Automated Gearshift System (AGS), and 15-inch precision-cut two-tone alloy wheels. The Dzire comes with two engine options – 1.2 L 4 Cylinder Petrol producing 88.50 BHP and 113 NM of torque paired to 5 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. The other is the CNG engine producing 76.43 BHP and 98.5 NM of torque mated to 5 Speed Manual Gearbox only.

The Dzire is currently priced at Rs. 6.51 Lakh for the entry-level “LXI” variant, and Rs. 9.39 Lakh for the top “ZXI+ Automatic” variant with 2 Years/40,000 KM warranty that can be extended up to 5 Years/1,00,000 KMs.
