The bookings for the Maruti Invicto has officially begun and we’ve learnt that Maruti’s Premium MPV will be available in one variant only, Alpha Plus!

Maruti Suzuki Invicto will be available with one single top-spec strong hybrid variant, the Alpha Plus which is based on the HyCross’s ZX(O) Hybrid variant.

Maruti Invicto – What you need to know!

Maruti Suzuki has begin the bookings for their upcoming HyCross-based MPV at Rs. 25,000, and that will be sold via the Nexa dealerships. With the bookings open announcement, we learnt that Maruti won’t be offering the Invicto with Petrol variant, but instead it will have only one strong-hybrid top variant, Alpha Plus with 7-seater configuration since the HyCross’s ZX(O) Hybrid variant is available with 7-seater configuration.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto Alpha Plus variant will be powered by the 2.0-litre TNGA 5th Generation in-line Petrol-Hybrid engine which produces 183.72 bhp and 188 Nm of torque paired to an eCVT. This engine produces 172 bhp and 188Nm in Petrol and the hybrid motor produces 11 bhp and 206 Nm of torque. No Manual Transmission or Petrol-only powertrain will be available for sale.

When it comes to dimensions, the Invicto will measure the same as the Innova HyCross. The Invicto has a length of 4755mm, width of 1845mm, and 1785mm in height. The wheelbase of Maruti’s Premium MPV, Invicto is going to be 2850mm, ground clearance of 185mm, and boot space of 300 litres. The Invicto will have a fuel tank capacity of 52 litres, and kerb weight of 1,915 kg.

The Invicto’s Alpha Plus variant has features same as the HyCross’s ZX(O) Hybrid variant, like the ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 9-speaker JBL sound system, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, captain seats with ottoman function for second row passengers, ambient lighting, connected car tech, and ADAS with features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), high beam assist, lane trace assist, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross traffic alert, and Pre-Collision System. In Safety, it has six airbags, TPMS, ABS with EBD, Traction Control, ISOFIX anchorages, Hill Assist, Hill Descent Control, and ESC.

Since, we were expecting the Invicto to have four variant that would bring the starting price at Rs. 25.50 lakh, but now we know it’ll be available in one variant, Alpha Plus, and therefore we expect the starting price to be Rs. 30 lakh. Maruti will be unveiling the Invicto MPV on July 5th followed by the price announcement. Kia recently discontinued the Carnival in India which will re-launch sometime in 2024 with the fourth-gen update that was seen at the Auto Expo 2023. This leaves the Maruti Invicto rival, the Toyota HyCross, the MPV that’s it based-on as its main competitor to determine which model performs better in sales.
