Maruti Suzuki has launched the Invicto MPV in India at Rs. 24.79 lakh which is a rebadged Toyota Innova HyCross with very few omitted features as they attempted to undercut the HyCross. The Invicto comes with features that aren’t seen in any Maruti models and this is the first Maruti model that’ll only have Automatic Transmission and no Manual Transmission. The Invicto sole rival is the Toyota Innova HyCross, but it can be compared to other three-row SUVs like Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra Scorpio-N. When it comes to Dimensions, the Invicto and the HyCross has the same dimensions which is 4755mm length, 1845mm width, 1785mm in height, 2850mm wheelbase, 185mm ground clearance and 52 litres of fuel tank capacity. The Invicto’s 2850mm wheelbase is the longest against it’s rivals. The Safari has the highest ground clearance of 205mm while the Alcazar and XUV700 has the same 200mm ground clearance. The Scorpio-N is the widest car with 1917mm while the less wider car is the Alcazar with 1790mm width. The Tata Safari has the shortest wheelbase of 2741mm while the Invicto has longest wheelbase of 2850mm.

The Scorpio-N has the tallest height of 1857mm while the shorter height is of the XUV700 which is 1755mm. The MG Hector Plus, and the Mahindra XUV700 has the biggest fuel tank of 60 litres while the smallest fuel tank is of the Alcazar and Safari of 50 litres. The Invicto has the longest length of 4755mm while the shortest length is of 4500mm from the Alcazar.

The Invicto and the HyCross are the only model that comes with Petrol-Hybrid powertrain, it’s rivals does not get this powertrain. Both are powered by the same 2.0-litre TNGA 5th Generation in-line Petrol-Hybrid Engine producing 183.72 bhp and 188 Nm of torque mated to an eCVT Gearbox.

In Engine Options, the Invicto doesn’t come with normal petrol engine, but it’s rivals does. The Innova HyCross is powered by a 2.0-litre TNGA in-Line Petrol that pumps out 172.99 bhp and 209 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a CVT with Sequential Shift Gearbox.  The Alcazar is powered by the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that puts out 157 bhp and 253 Nm of torque mated to an 6-speed Manual, and 7-speed DCT Gearbox. The XUV700 is powered by the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which produces 197.13 bhp and 380 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is powered by the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which produces 200 bhp and 370 Nm of torque for Manual variants, and 200 bhp and 380 Nm of torque for Automatic variants. This engine is mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Hector Plus is powered by the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, and drives the front wheels via a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed CVT Gearbox.

The Invicto unfortunately doesn’t come with Diesel powertrain either, but it’s rivals does. The Alcazar is also powered by the 1.5-litre diesel which produces 113.42 bhp and 250 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Mahindra XUV700 has the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine produces 182.38 bhp and 450 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Safari is powered by the 2.0-litre Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine that produces 167.67 bhp and 350 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N has 2.2-litre turbo diesel produces 130.07 bhp and 300 Nm for the entry-level variants, other variants have 172.45 bhp and 370 Nm for Manual, and 172.45 bhp and 400 Nm of torque for Automatic. This turbo diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox and 6-speed Automatic Gearbox. The Hector has a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 167.67 bhp and 350 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed Manual Gearbox.

The Maruti Invicto is priced at Rs. 24.79 lakh for the entry-level Zeta+ 7-seater variant, and the top variant Alpha+ 7-seater is priced at Rs. 28.42 lakh. The Innova HyCross starts at Rs. 18.55 lakh for the base ‘G’ variant and goes up to Rs. 29.99 lakh for the ZX (O) Hybrid variant which is top of the line variant in the line-up. The Hyundai Alcazar starts at Rs. 16.77 lakh for the base Prestige variant and goes all the way up to Rs. 21.13 lakh for the Signature (O) DT DCT variant.
