Maruti Suzuki Revealed their sales figures of May 2023!

Maruti Suzuki Sales in May 2023 reports growth in domestic sales while it also reports decline in total exports.

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the sales figures of May 2023 and it reports 5.03% year-on-year growth as it did total sales of 1,78,013 units including the exports.

Maruti Suzuki, the leading carmaker of India, revealed the sales figures of May 2023 and it did sales of 1,78,013 units which is 10.28% year-on-year growth over the 1,61,413 units in May 2022 with volume growth by 16,600 units. Out of these 1,78,013 units, 1,51,606 units include domestic sales, 5,010 units include sales to other OEMS, and 26,477 units include export sales.

Maruti in it’s regulatory filing reported its faced shortage of electronic components that had a minor impact on the production of vehicles and did everything possible to minimise the impact. Demand for vehicles in Mini Segment – Alto, S-Presso dipped from 17,408 units to 12,236 units with 29.71% decreased year-on-year growth as the volume de-growth by 5,172 units. The YTD Sales decreased from 34,545 units in FY 2022-23 to 26,346 units in FY 2023-24.

The Compact Segment – Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, WagonR, demand for this category increased from 67,947 units in May 2022 to 71,416 units in May 2023 with 5.10% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 3,472 units. The YTD Sales increased from 1,27,131 units in FY 2022-23 to 1,46,354 units in FY 2023-24. The demand for Ciaz in Mid-Size Category increased from 586 units in May 2022 to 992 units in May 2023 with 69.28% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 406 units. The YTD Sales increased from 1,165 units in FY 2022-23 to 2,009 units in FY 2023-24.

The Utility Vehicles segments – Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6, Grand Vitara, the demand for it increased as well from 28,051 units in May 2022 to 46,243 units in May 2023 with 64.85% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 18,192 units. The YTD Sales also increased from 61,992 units in FY 2022-23 to 82,997 in FY 2023-24. The demand for Eeco in Vans category increased from 10,482 units in May 2022 to 12,818 units in May 2023 with 22.28% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 2,336 units. The YTD Sales increased from 21,636 units FY 2023-24 to 23,322 units in FY 2022-23.

The Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) Category has Super Carry Mini-Truck which saw less demand as it sold 2,888 units in May 2023 from 3,526 units in May 2022 with 18.09% year-on-year de-growth and volume de-growth by 638 units. The YTD Sales decreased from 7,792 units in FY 2022-23 to 5,087 units in FY 2023-24. Total Domestic Sales including LCV (PV+LCV) increased from 1,24,474 unit in May 2022 to 1,43,708 units in May 2023 with 15.45% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 19,234 units. The YTD Sales increased from 2,54,261 units in FY 2022-23 to 2,86,115 units in FY 2023-24.

Maruti also sold vehicles to other OEMs like Toyota and saw de-growth from 6,222 units in May 2022 to 5,010 units in May 2023 with 19.47% year-on-year de-growth and volume de-growth by 1,212 units. The YTD Sales also decreased from 12,209 units in FY 2022-23 to 9,049 units in FY 2023-24. Total Domestic Sales (PV+LCV+OEM) increased from 1,34,222 units in May 2022 to 1,51,606 units in May 2023 with 12.95% year-on-year growth and volume growth by 17,384 units. Total Export Sales decreased from 27,191 units in May 2022 to 26,477 units in May 2023 with 2.69% year-on-year de-growth and volume decreased by 714 units.

So, in total, Maruti Suzuki did sales of 1,78,083 units in May 2023 which is 10.32% year-on-year growth against the 1,61,413 units in May 2022. The YTD Sales also increased as well from 3,12,074 units in FY 2022-23 to FY 3,38,612 units.

Maruti Suzuki is currently working on launching the 5-door Jimny in India on June 7th, 2023, and then after Jimny, it’ll be launching it’s most Premium vehicle ever in July 2023.
