Maruti Suzuki released their sales figures for February 2023 and witnessed 5% increased growth with 172,321 units on a year-to-year basis.

Maruti Suzuki, the leading carmaker of India revealed its sales for the February 2023, and it sold 172,321 units with 5% increased growth on a year-to-year basis where last year it sold 164,056 units and in January 2023, it sold 172,535 units. Out of these 172,321 units, 150,823 include domestic sales, 4,291 units sold to other OEM and exports of 17,207 units.

Last year in February 2022, it had sold 164,056 units to its dealers. Maruti in its regulatory filing reported its faced shortage of electronic components that had a minor impact on the production of vehicles, mainly in domestic models. It took all the possible measures to minimize this impact. Demand for vehicles in Mini segment – Alto, S-Presso increased from 19,691 units in February 2022 to 21,875 units in February 2023.

The YTD sales increased from 196,271 units of FY 2021-22 to 221,329 units in FY 2022-23. The Compact segment – Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, WagonR, the demand for this category also increased from 77,795 units in February 2022 to 79,898 units in February 2023. YTD sales increased to 791,197 of FY 2022-23 from 622,567 units in the same period last year.

The demand for the Ciaz in Mid-size segment was decreased from 1,912 units in February 2022 to 792 units in February 2023. YTD sales decreased from 13,310 units in FY 2022-23 to 14,035 units in the same period last year even though Maruti launched the Nexa Black Edition and updated its features as well.

The Utility Vehicles segments – Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6, Grand Vitara, the demand for it increased as well from 25,360 units of February 2022 to 33,550 units of February 2023. YTD sales also increased to 329,075 units of FY 2022-23 from 265,700 units in the same period last year. Eeco in the Vans segment also saw increased demand from 9,190 units of February 2022 to 11,352 units of February 2023. YTD sales increased to 119,196 units of FY 2022-23 from 99,124 units in the same period last year.

Total Domestic Sales including LCV (PV+LCV) increased from 137,607 units in February 2022 to 155,114 units of February 2023 with YTD sales improved from 1,227,712 of FY 2021-22 to 1,508,712 units of FY 2022-23. Maruti also sold vehicles to other OEMs like Toyota and saw improved from 2,428 units of February 2022 to 4,291 units of February 2023. YTD sales improved to 58,790 units of FY 2022-23 from 42,666 units in the same period last year.

Total Domestic Sales (PV+LCV+OEM) increased from 155,114 units in February 2022 to 140,035 units of February 2023 and YTD sales improved from 1,270,378 units of FY 2021-22 to 1,566,879 units in FY 2022-23. Exports saw decline in sales from 24,021 units of February 2022 to 17,207 units in February 2023. YTD sales had increased growth from 229,214 units of FY 2021-22 to 211,880 units to FY 2022-23.
