Exterior Design and Features
The SUV’s design, based on our render, showcases a distinctive front fascia inspired by the Brezza. A chrome-accented black element runs across the front, connecting seamlessly with the L-shaped LED DRLs. The front also features a dual mini-cube LED headlamp setup and faux skid plates integrated into the bumpers, adding to its rugged appeal.
The side profile is elongated, accommodating a third-row seating option for two additional passengers. New 18-inch alloy wheels enhance its stance, while broader wheel arches and a flat roofline ensure more headroom for third-row occupants. The rear is expected to sport connected taillamps, a carbon finish for the rear bumpers, and a more prominent tailgate design.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the cabin design may closely resemble that of the Grand Vitara but with notable upgrades. These could include a new free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. The second row is likely to offer captain seats for a 6-seater variant and bench seats for a 7-seater configuration. The third row will have AC vents on the C-pillar, and a panoramic sunroof will add to the airy feeling inside.
Engine Options and Performance
Maruti Suzuki may offer two engine options for this SUV:
Engine | 2.0 L Z12E Series Petrol Engine with Mild-Hybrid System | 1.5 L Petrol Hybrid Engine |
Drivetrain | FWD, AWD | FWD |
Power | 150 BHP [Expected] | 113.97 BHP |
Torque | 300 NM [Expected] | 141 NM |
Transmission | 5 Speed MT, 6 Speed AT | eCVT |
- 2.0 L Z12E Series Petrol Engine with Mild-Hybrid System: Paired with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. Moreover, it’s possible Maruti will also offer a All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) trim similar to what they did with Grand Vitara.
- 1.5 L Petrol Hybrid Engine with eCVT Gearbox: This in-house produced engine will feature a series hybrid system, where the petrol engine primarily charges the battery, and the electric motor powers the vehicle, enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.
Advanced Features and Safety
Maruti’s new 7-Seater SUV is expected to come with better features than the Grand Vitara such as front ventilated seats, powered front seats, wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, dual 10.25-inch displays – Infotainment System with Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto and Fully Digital Cluster; captain seats in 2nd row with ventilated seats [not for 7-seater trims], drive and traction modes, heads-up display, Powered Tailgate, and so much more.
Safety-wise, expect 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS with functions same as the upcoming eVX SUV, Hill-hold assist and Descent Control, Disc Brakes for all wheels, 6 Airbags as standard, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and so much more.
These features, along with a host of other modern amenities, will position this SUV as a formidable competitor in the Indian market.
Expected Launch and Competition
Set to likely launch in India in 2025, this SUV will compete with other SUVs in segment like like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700. The expected starting price is around Rs. 15 lakhs, making it an attractive option in the 7-seater SUV segment.
