The latest version of the Swift looks quite similar to the current one, but it has some noticeable updates both inside and out. The front grille has a new round design with an x-pattern and chrome accents. The headlights now have L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a bonnet similar to the Mini Cooper. The door handles are back to their usual spot on the side, new alloy wheels and at the back, there’s a two-tone bumper and updated LED taillights with C-shaped elements, giving the car a sportier look.

Inside, the design is similar to other recent Maruti models, with a three-color dashboard and a large 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. There’s also a new climate control panel and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Practical features like fabric seats, dual USB ports for charging, and rear seats that can be split 60:40 are still there.Under the hood, the new Swift will feature a new 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. This engine is expected to produce 82 BHP and 107 NM of torque paired with a 5 Speed Manual and Automatic gearbox for better fuel efficiency, reportedly up to 24 KMPL.In terms of features, the Swift comes with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, cruise control, automatic climate control, and LED headlights. Safety features include a 360-degree surround-view camera, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and hill assist. The Swift showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show also had an electric parking brake with auto hold and Level 2 ADAS capabilities, suggesting advancements in safety technology.As for pricing, the current Swift starts from around Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs. 9.03 lakh, but it’s expected to increase soon. The new Swift, when launched in India, is anticipated to start from around Rs. 6.50 lakh. Competing against models like the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Tata Tiago, the new Swift aims to offer a good mix of features and performance, possibly challenging SUVs like the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch with its extensive features.
