Just like the MG Gloster Black Storm, the Astor will be getting the Black Storm edition as well with all-black exterior with red accent highlights all over the body.
MG Astor Black Storm: What you need to know!
MG Motor on their social media handles teased a new special edition for the Astor SUV, and going by their special edition naming for the Gloster, it’s highly possible that the special edition for the Astor will be called the Black Storm edition. It’s scheduled for launch later today, and it’ll feature all-black exterior with red highlights around the grille, headlights, ORVMs, front and rear bumpers, door claddings, and Black Storm badging on both the fenders. The Astor features Disc Brakes front and rear and it could get red brake callipers.
The Astor is currently available in Havana Grey, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy Red, Starry Black, and Dual-Tone White and Black. The SUV comes in five variants – Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. It is possible that the special edition will be exclusive to top variant, Savvy, similar to the Gloster Black Storm. But for the interiors, there is a problem as the SUV already comes with black and red color interiors, and its possible it may not get any interior change, or it may feature an all-black interior which honestly will look cool.
Other than that, the powertrains will remain the same. The Black Storm edition might only sport the 1.3 L Turbo Petrol Engine producing 138 BHP and 220 NM of torque paired to 6-speed Automatic Gearbox only. The Astor comes with features like the Panoramic Sunroof, 10.1-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, an personal AI Bot placed on the dashboard, Level 2 ADAS, and many more.
The MG Astor rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
