MG Motors has been spied again testing the Cloud EV in India as it works to expand its product portfolio to please the Indian consumers. The Cloud EV will be another competitor in the segment to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta EV, and so on.
MG Cloud EV: Exterior
The upcoming MG Cloud EV, based on the Wuling Cloud EV sold in Indonesia, is set to hit the road later this year. Despite its MPV appearance, it maintains a 5-seater configuration, measuring approximately 4.3 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The EV features a sleek, minimalist design with flush door handles, a simple body, and full-width LED light bars at both the front and rear. Its unique front-end design, with headlamps integrated into the bumper, gives it a distinctive look. Additionally, a radar module on the lower air intake provides ADAS with Level 2 capabilities.
MG Cloud EV: Interior
The interiors of the Cloud EV were spied showcasing a minimalist design with few physical buttons. Most functions are controlled via steering-mounted controls or the extensive array of screens. The cabin features three displays: an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, and a 15.6-inch central control screen. These screens will integrate the LingOS 2.0 ecological cockpit, providing numerous connectivity options and features.
MG Cloud EV: Battery Specs
Internationally, it gets two battery pack options – 37.9 kWh with 360 KM Range and 50.6 kWh with 460 KM Range. It comes powered by a single-motor mounted at front axle. It’s unclear at the moment which battery pack the Indian-spec version would be getting.
MG Cloud EV: Features
Features-wise, expect the Cloud EV to have front ventilated seats, electric parking brake, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless charging pad, 6 Airbags, and so much more. Moreover, the EV will have a “Sofa Mode” where you can fully recline the front seats at 135 degrees to rest while being driven around by chauffeur.
MG Cloud EV: Price, and Launch
MG Cloud EV is expected to launch in September 2024 to rival the likes of ZS EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the Maruti eVX. MG is expected to price the Cloud EV from Rs. 20 Lakhs.
