Last month, MG had announced that it’ll be launching the Comet EV in India in April 2023 and then today, it partially revealed the interiors.
As everyone knows by now, MG Comet EV is based on it’s sister company in Indonesia, Wuling Air, and as expected, the interior of the Comet EV and the Wuling Air are quite similar to each other. MG partially revealed the interior with the main focus on the multi-function two-spoke steering wheel. The controls on the steering wheel of the Comet EV is inspired from the discontinued Apple iPod. These will most likely have controls for the audio, navigation, and voice commands for the infotainment system.
The Comet EV will have the 10.25-inch dual-screen display on the dashboard and below that is the two horizontal positioned AC vent with the rotary controls below the vents finished in chrome.
While more information on the features and equipment’s are yet to be revealed by MG for the Comet EV, it is expected to get the dual-tone theme interiors, MG’s connected car tech, voice commands, electric parking brake, drive modes, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and keyless entry/exit. In safety, it will get ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, and hill start assist.

The MG Comet EV will come with two battery pack options – 17.3 kWh battery and 26.7 kWh battery pack. The 17.3 kWh battery pack produces 29.8 kW power and 110 Nm of torque with a range of 200km and a top speed limited to 100 kmph. The 26.7 kWh battery pack produces the same power and torque but now has 100km more range that is 300 km and increased top speed of 106 kmph.
The 17.3 kWh battery pack takes 8.5 hours to charge from 0 – 100% and the 26.7 kWh battery pack takes 4 hours to charge from 0 – 100%.

MG had announced that it’ll be launching the Comet EV in India in April 2023 with price announcement sometime in May 2023. But once it launches in India, it’ll rival the Tata Tiago EV whose starting price is Rs. 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and the new Citreon eC3 starting price at Rs. 11.50 lakh. The Comet EV could be positioned between these two models and have a starting around Rs. 10 lakh.
