MG Motors has revealed the sales figures for the month of May 2024, and its reports total sales of 4,769 unit sales with most sold model being the ZS EV which achieves its highest-ever monthly sales since launch.

In May 2024, MG Motors recorded domestic sales of 4,769 Units with year-on-year (YoY) decline by 4.73% from 5,006 Units of same period last year sales with 237 Units less units sold. However, the Month-on-Month (MoM) growth is 6.33% over the April 2024 sales of 4,485 Units while also reporting growth in volumes by 284 units.

MG Motors has reported that electric vehicles (EV) made up for one-third of its total sales signalling a significant market shift towards electric mobility. This could be due to the increased awareness towards consumers having environmental issues and initiatives promoting adoption of electric vehicles. The ZS EV has been well-received achieving record monthly sales figures, marking the highest ever for MG Motors in May 2024.
The ZS EV success will now encourage the brand to push more EV models in India expanding its portfolio to meet the Indian consumers needs. With a strategic planning, MG’s could turn the tables and start reporting positive growth in sales with this one being the first step. The Comet EV is another success that is working in the brands favour as you’ll notice the small EV on the roads making appearances.
MG later this year will be launching two new SUVS – one is MG Cloud EV which is an electric SUV that may compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Maruti eVX; the other is the MG Gloster Facelift that could launch near the end of this year.
