MG Motors has released an teaser for its upcoming third electric model for the Indian Market, Cloud EV. The first CUV of India will go on sale later this year and with no direct rivals, it’ll be the sole model in segment. But price-wise, it’ll compete with the likes of MG ZS EV, and Tata Nexon EV.

The MG Cloud EV boasts a striking and minimalist exterior. With sleek lines and flush door handles, it exudes modernity. Full-width LED light bars adorn both the front and rear, enhancing its contemporary appeal. The front end features integrated headlamps and a radar module that supports advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) with Level 2 capabilities.
Step inside, and you’ll find a truly minimalist interior, largely devoid of physical buttons. Most controls are seamlessly integrated into the steering wheel or the trio of digital displays. These include an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, and a commanding 15.6-inch central control screen, all powered by the LingOS 2.0 ecological cockpit. Connectivity options abound, ensuring a cutting-edge user experience.

Internationally, the MG Cloud EV offers two battery options: a 37.9 kWh pack providing a range of 360 KM, and a larger 50.6 kWh pack extending the range to 460 KM. The front-mounted motor delivers efficient power while maintaining a smooth driving experience.
Luxury meets practicality inside the Cloud EV, with features such as front ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, and dual-zone climate control ensuring a comfortable journey. Safety is prioritized with six airbags and advanced braking systems. One standout feature is the “Sofa Mode,” allowing the front seats to recline fully to 135 degrees, perfect for relaxing during longer trips.
MG Motors plans to introduce the Cloud EV to the Indian market by September 2024, with prices expected to start around Rs. 20 lakhs. Positioned as India’s first CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) in the EV segment, it promises to compete strongly against established likes of the ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Maruti eVX.
