Ever since the Fortuner-rival, Gloster SUV was spied testing, many are expecting what changes will come with the facelift, and how it’s going to look. In this article, we’ve explained everything you need to know!
MG Motors was spied testing the Gloster Facelift and the SUV has grown in size than what the current Gloster looks. One thing is clear is that the Gloster is a rebadged Maxus D90, or LDV D90 given if you look at the Gloster’s history. MG Gloster Facelift looks identical to those models where design is concerned. Moreover, the LDV D90 was showcased earlier this year in Australia and New Zealand. So, if we take the Maxus D90 in consideration, the Gloster Facelift will feature new design for the front, and rear with significant changes to the interiors.

The Gloster Facelift has become more bigger with dimensions – 5214 MM in length, 2016 MM in width, and 1876 MM. When compared to the current version, the Gloster measured – 4985 MM in length, 1926 MM in width, and 1867 MM in height. The Gloster Facelift has grew humongously longer by 229 MM, wider by 90 MM, and taller by 9 MM. As for the wheelbase, it’s the same between the current and facelift version, and in case it’s increased, it’s likely to be because of added bodywork – front and rear.
Talking about the design, the front profile massive grille with block patterns, and this grille houses two vertical LED elements which are encased by orange element for top trims. Then there are two slim LED DRLs connected by LED light bar, and below is the tri-cube LED headlights positioned vertically which now look much better than it does on the current version. The Maxus has a large logo on the bonnet, and it’s very much going to be replaced by the “Morris Garages” lettering emblem, and an MG logo at the center of the grille.
The interiors features a new infotainment system, redesigned dashboard and center console, two new rotary dials for drive modes, and 4×4 selector, but retains the slimmer AC vents, and the steering wheel.

As for the powertrains, MG offers 2.2 L Single Turbo, and Twin-Turbo Engine mated to 8 Speed Torque Converter Automatic in India, and will probably continue to offer the same option.
As for the features, it comes with heated and ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS, new digital instrument cluster, 3-zone climate control, 360-Surround View Camera, Powered Front Seats, 4×4 Drive Selector, Captain Seats in second-row, 12 Speaker Sound System, Automatic Power Tailgate, 7 Terrain Modes, Heated ORVMs, Electro-mechanical Differential Lock, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Driver Fatigue Reminder System, and so much more.
MG Motors is expected to launch the Fortuner-rival, Gloster Facelift in the second half of 2024 from Rs. 40 Lakhs.
