Toyota is preparing to launch the next generation of the Fortuner, with significant updates to its exterior and interior. A key highlight is the introduction of a new powertrain equipped with a 48V battery for mild-hybrid technology. This innovative system will be paired with both diesel and petrol engines, with the goal of reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency.
The next generation of the Fortuner is set to receive a range of upgrades, with a notable redesign of the front grille featuring a semi-hexagonal shape and three horizontal slats. Enhanced tri-cube LED headlamps, accompanied by sleek LED DRLs, will provide a more distinctive look. The signature side profile remains intact, but new alloy wheels will be introduced.

At the rear, expect connected LED taillamps and updated bumper designs. Inside, subtle changes to the dashboard will accommodate a larger, free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system, along with slimmer AC vents below. The cabin is likely to include a fully digital instrument cluster and a redesigned 4-spoke steering wheel. The addition of Ottoman Seats in the second row, inspired by the HyCross model, reflects the growing trend of rival offerings featuring Captain Seats.

The powertrain options are set to include the 2.8 L 4 Cylinder Diesel and 2.7 L Petrol engines, both integrated with a 48V battery for mild-hybrid functionality to enhance fuel efficiency by around 10 – 15% and also help in reduce emissions. Despite these changes, power and torque outputs are likely to remain unchanged.
In terms of features, the new Fortuner will introduce a host of additions, including the 10.25-inch infotainment system, a new digital instrument cluster, heated seats, ventilated seats and Ottoman Seats in the 2nd row (7-Seater version only), 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, and so much more. There are possibilities of the return of the 11 Speaker JBL Sound System. Noteworthy existing features, such as ventilated seats, powered seats, and hill descent control, will be retained.
