In a surprise turn of events, Xiaomi has quietly bought its first-ever 800 KM Electric Sedan to India to showcase not officially, but exclusive to general public, partners, and employees. The Smartphone Giant Xiaomi last year entered the automotive industry by introducing the SU7 Coupe electric sedan sedan, and while it left so many people impressed, it even recorded 50,000 bookings in under 27 minutes in China. Now, Xiaomi is set to showcase its Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan in India on July 9, 2024. This event, taking place in Bengaluru, is not an official unveiling but rather an exclusive showcase for partners, employees, and the general public. Xiaomi has also not commented anything about India launch. The SU7 EV was launched in China earlier this year, starting at 2,15,900 Yuan (approximately Rs 24.90 lakh).

Xiaomi’s has an exhibition in Bengaluru which help the brand to highlight the brand’s ability to create a diverse product portfolio across multiple sectors. Xiaomi’s largest consumer product business is the smartphones which they’re good at producing staying strongly competitive with Samsung. However, this exhibition is set to showcase many new products that will be sold in different categories, including electric cars in India’s premium and luxury segment.Through this exhibition, Xiaomi is likely assessing India as a potential market for their first-ever EV, the SU7. While maintaining their focus on their core business in India, which includes smartphones, gadgets, other consumer electronics, and a range of appliances, Xiaomi seems poised to explore the electric vehicle market in the country.
If bought to India, it’s likely it’ll be available in one trim which will be the top-spec Max Performance Variant positioning in a competitive rivals like BYD Seal EV, BMW i3, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Kia EV6. The sedan features a sleek and futuristic design with front exterior design looking similar to the Mclaren’s, measuring 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and up to 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Moreover, it has boot space of 517 Litres while the front frunk is of 107 Litres.Xiaomi SU7 offers the Max Performance Variant with a larger 101 kWh battery pack, boasting a top speed of 265 KMPH and can sprint from 0-100 KMPH in just 2.78 seconds, offering an impressive range of up to 810 KM on a single charge.
