BMW iX1 Launch: What you need to know!

So, in just 3 days, BMW is going to launch its most affordable electric SUV in India, iX1. From the outside as you can see, it has huge kidney grille with a little aggressive bumpers and blue accents around the edges, side steps, and the grille. It obviously sports the LED headlights with dual L shaped LED DRLS in them. Moving to the side, it has flush door handles, blue accents at the side sills, thin wheel arches, and plain body. At the rear, it features horizontally positioned L-shaped LED taillamps with blue accents at the edges, and that’s it.

From the inside, however, it features 10.7-inch touchscreen curved dual displays with latest BMW iDrive software, BMW’s four-spoke steering wheel, two cupholders, and good quality materials used for luxurious feeling. It’s possible the iX1 could get the panoramic sunroof, and front massage seats function as options.

The iX1 xDrive30 is equipped with a 66.5 kWh battery pack that puts out 308.71 BHP and 494 NM of torque giving you a claimed range of 438 KMs, and BMW claims it can accelerate from 0 – 100 KMPH in just 5.6 Seconds at a top speed of 180 KMPH which is good for an SUV this big. It is highly likely that BMW will bring the electric SUV in India through the CBU route, and hence it could lead to prices being on the higher side. Although the ICE BMW X1 is locally assembled in India, we could see BMW follow the same foot steps for the iX1.

Thus, we expect BMW to launch the iX1 somewhere Rs. 60 – Rs. 65 Lakh making it the affordable SUV from BMW in India, and at this price point in India, it rivals the Volvo C40 Recharge that is priced at Rs. 56.9 Lakh.
