New Creta 2020(Kia Seltos Rival) Official Bookings Begins Ahead of Launch on March 17

Second generation Hyundai Creta made its official debut at the Auto Expo 2020 held in Greater Noida in the previous month along with a number of other models including Hyundai Tucson Facelift, Nexo hydrogen fuel cell car and others.

The New Creta will be launched in India in this month, in which a number of new cars are planned for launch including BMW X1 Facelift, Mercedes GLC Coupe Facelift, VW T-Roc and Tiguan All Space, Maruti S Cross Petrol and also Verna facelift by the South Korean carmakers as well.

The 2020 Creta looks similar to the Chinese spec ix25.Upfront it gets LED DRLs, LED Projector headlamps and fog lamps.At the lower end you get faux skid plates.The front Hyundai’s signature cascading grille gets treated with lots of chrome.The 17 inch wheels with diamond cut finish are all new and looks quite stylish.Roof rails are in silver colour while at the rear you get sleek shaped LED tail lamps which are connected and there is LED high mount stop lamp as well.

While the interior of the SUV has been completely changes.It gets all new dashboard, new steering wheel inspired from the genesis brand of cars which will also make way to New i20 2020, slated to launch in June 2020.Instrument cluster is all digital instrument and is quite informative as well.Infotainment system is of 10.25 inch and is in horizontal orientation.While the 1.5 L petrol and diesel variants gets black and grey dual tone interiors, the turbo trim gets all black seat upholstery.

The engine options are derived from Kia Seltos.The 1.5 L Petrol engine offered with 6 speed manual and 7 step CVT makes 114 BHP of power and 250 NM of peak torque.The claimed fuel efficiency for the respective transmission options is 16.8 kmpl and 17.1 kmpl.The 1.4 L turbo petrol generates out 138 BHP of power and 242 NM of maximum torque and comes with only 7 speed DCT automatic gearbox with mileage of 16.8 kmpl and misses out on manual transmission option.Diesel engine option also gets 6 speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission option with output figures of 114 BHP and 250 NM.The ARAI certified fuel efficiency is 21.4 kmpl and 18.3 kmpl respectively which means that Creta is slightly more fuel efficient than Kia Seltos.

New generation Hyundai Creta comes in 5 variants with E being the base model and SX(O) being the range topping variant.Diesel Manual comes in all the variants while the petrol manual combination remains limited to EX, S and SX missing out on base and top end trims.While the 1.5 L Petrol CVT, 1.4 L Petrol DCT, 1.5 L Diesel AT remains limited to top SX and SX Option models.There will be a total of 10 exterior colour schemes – Mulbery Red, Galaxy Blue, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver and Lava Orange.Dual tone colour schemes includes Polar White with Black Roof and Lava Orange with Black Roof.

Some of the top features of New Creta 2020 are panoramic sunroof, auto foldable ORVMs with puddle lamps, air purifier with LCD touch function, 8 speakers Bose Sound System, paddle shifters, LED tail lamps, 17 inch diamond cut alloys, front ventilated seats, 8 way powered driver seats, digital instrument cluster, ambient light, cooled glovebox, rear seat headrest cushion, rear reclinable seats, blue link with 55 features, rear window sunshade.Safety equipments includes automatic headlamps, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, all 4 disc brakes, 6 airbags, vehicle stability control, electronic stability management, hill start assist, rain sensing wipers among others.New Creta is built up on strong body structure with 74.3% AHSS and HSS.

Also in terms of dimensions, it has grown in size.The length, width and wheelbase of the SUV has increased by 30 mm with now the new dimensions being 4300 mm, 1790 mm, 2610 mm(Length x Width x Wheelbase).The boot space is 433 Litres which means 33 L bigger than before.Like the Grand i10 NIOS and Aura, Creta will be offered with variable warranty, which Hyundai India calls Wonder Warranty with options of 3 years and unlimited kilometres, 4 years and 60,000 kilometres and 5 years and 50,000 kilometres.

Hyundai India have also changed the tagline of Creta from ‘Perfect SUV’ to ‘Ultimate SUV’.It is expected to be priced between Rs. 10 L and Rs. 17 lakhs (Ex Showroom).When launched, it will lock horns with highly popular and competitive Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and this segment will soon be joined by Haval, Volkswagen and Skoda.Hyundai will also be bringing Verna facelift in the same month and also Tucson Facelift which was showcased at the biennial event.After that, the South Korean carmakers will bring much awaited all new i20 in India.
