The Hyundai Creta has met a new competitor in the market: the Renault Duster. After months of anticipation and rigorous testing, the Duster has finally launched in Turkey, starting at TRY 1.25 million (approximately Rs. 32 lakhs). With multiple powertrain options, the new Duster caters to a wide range of customer preferences and needs.

The new-gen Renault Duster features some unique styling tweaks compared to the Dacia Duster, especially noticeable in the front fascia. The Renault version sports an original radiator grille and bold ‘RENAULT’ lettering in place of the traditional rhombus logo. As for their dimensions, Renault Duster measures 4343 mm in length, 1921 mm width, 1616 mm height and boasts a wheelbase of 2658 mm. Ground clearance for both models ranges from 209 to 217 mm. Notably, you get 513 L boot space in base trim, 520 L with Mild-Hybrid, and 496 L in Full Hybrid.
In Turkey, new-gen Renault Duster is available in two trims: Evolution and Techno, both loaded with premium features.
The Evolution trim comes with 17-inch wheels, LED lights, and rear drum brakes. Inside, it features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. For safety, it includes front and side airbags, curtain airbags, a rearview camera, an automatic braking system, cruise control, road sign recognition, and lane departure warning.
The Techno trim adds fog lights, all-disc brakes, and an automatic headlight switching system. It also offers automatic climate control and wireless charging. Optional features for the Techno trim include 18-inch wheels, a blind spot monitoring system, a 360° surround view camera, a heated steering wheel and seats, interior LED lights, hooks, and gadget holders.

The new-gen Renault Duster shares its powertrain options with the Dacia Duster, offering three choices.
The first option is a 1.0 TCe LPG engine, which is a three-cylinder engine supporting both gasoline and propane. This engine produces 100 hp and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, with power sent to the front wheels. In this option, the SUV does 0 – 100 KMPH in 13.2 seconds.
The second option is the Hybrid E-Tech powertrain, which combines an electric motor with a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This setup produces a combined 145 hp and is front-wheel drive (FWD) type and mated to Multi-Mode Automatic Gearbox. In this option, the SUV does 0 – 100 KMPH in 10.1 seconds.
The third option is a mild hybrid setup featuring a 1.2 TCe turbo petrol engine with a 48-volt starter-generator. This powertrain produces 130 hp and comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Variants with this powertrain are available in an all-wheel drive format. In this option, the SUV does 0 – 100 KMPH in 11 seconds.
Notably, the new-gen Renault Duster does not offer any diesel engine options.
Renault had confirmed they will be launching the new generation Duster in India in 2025. It’s expected to come with the 1.2 L Mild-Hybrid Engine while it’s possible they’ll bring the Full-Hybrid Option as well given they were spotted in the Austral Coupe SUV assessing the Hybrids for India. So, we expect it to launch in the 2nd half of 2025 at an expected price from Rs. 12 Lakhs.
