Bajaj Auto is gearing up to revolutionize the motorcycle industry with the launch of the world’s first-ever CNG motorcycle on June 18, 2024. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, confirmed this groundbreaking development during the unveiling of the new Pulsar NS400Z. This innovative CNG motorcycle aims to provide a cost-effective commuting solution for the masses, setting a new standard in sustainability and affordability.
The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle has been spotted multiple times during testing, featuring a substantial fuel tank suggesting a dual-fuel system. Expected to fall within the 100-125 cc range, this commuter bike boasts telescopic front forks paired with a monoshock at the rear, along with a combination of disc and drum brakes. Safety features such as single-channel ABS or Combi-braking are likely to be included to meet regulatory standards.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto has recently introduced its flagship model, the Pulsar NS400Z, to the Indian market. Priced at ₹1.85 lakh ex-showroom (introductory), bookings for this model are open with a token amount of ₹5,000, and deliveries are slated to commence from June.
Under the hood, the Pulsar NS400Z is powered by the same engine found in the Dominar 400. This liquid-cooled 373 cc Unit generates 39 BHP and Torque of 35 NM mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. Equipped with ride-by-wire technology, riding modes, traction control, and various ABS modes, the Pulsar NS400Z offers a blend of performance and advanced features for riders.
