Maruti Suzuki Ciaz!

The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is an upcoming next-gen update for the sedan and is expected to launch in India sometime in 2024. The Ciaz is a mid-size sedan that is so spacious, and offers good fuel efficiency. However, the sedan’s interiors was in dire need of an update and it looks it’ll get the major update that it requires. So, here are the top 5 things about the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz that you should probably know about!

2024 Maruti Ciaz – Exterior and Interior Changes

The current Maruti Ciaz has sharp looking LED Projector headlamps with the front grille made up of tiny rectangle blocks and is positioned little lower for the meaner and premium look. It is possible that the 2024 Maruti Ciaz will have Vitara inspired grille at the front with NEXA LED DRLs of Grand Vitara. The current Ciaz bonnet has few cuts on it and there is use of chrome around the fog lamps coverings and a chrome line at the bottom part of the grille. It is possible that the 2024 Ciaz will get rid of fog lamps and instead replace it with a LED projector headlamps.

Moving to the side, the current Ciaz has few cuts on the body, a chrome line on the bottom frame of the window and it rides on the 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. It is likely the side profile will remain the same except it’ll get new alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, it has LED taillamps with a chrome element joining both the taillamps. For the rear, it is possible that the 2024 Ciaz will get Fronx or Grand Vitara inspired LED taillamps with connected LED light bar.

From the inside, the current Ciaz has a 7-inch infotainment system placed below the AC vents and the rectangular shaped AC vents at the side. It has dual-tone dashboard option and the interiors of the Ciaz is desperately in need of update as it looks very outdated. It has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with analog instrument cluster and a TFT display between the analog dials. Moving to the rear, the seats are split in 60:40 ratio and has a 6-speaker standard sound system as well.

The new 2024 will have the same dashboard layout as other new Maruti cars interiors, meaning it’ll sport a new 9-inch infotainment system at the center and possibly digital instrument cluster for the top variant. It’ll get paddle shifters on the three-spoke steering wheel, wireless charging pad in front of the gearbox, and possibly ventilated seats for both driver and front passenger. Moreover, it’ll get the Arkamy’s 6-speaker sound system over the standard one it offers in the current Ciaz.

The current Ciaz measures 4490mm in length, 1730mm in width, and 1485mm in height. It is possible that Maruti could increase the length, width, and height by few ‘mm’, probably somewhere near the Skoda Slavia or Volkswagen Virtus to scoop in extra legroom and headroom for the passengers at the rear seat. The current Ciaz has a wheelbase of 2650mm, ground clearance of 170mm, and boot space of 510 litres. While Maruti will retain the ground clearance in 2024 Ciaz, it is possible Maruti could increase the wheelbase to become the sedan with the longest wheelbase, and boot space might remain the same, or see increase by few litres. The current Ciaz has a fuel tank of 43 litres, kerb weight of 1,130 kg and gross weight of 1,530 kg. The kerb weight and gross weight will definitely go up by 100 kgs at least in 2024 Ciaz, and as for the fuel tank, Maruti could replace the 43 litres tank with the 45 litres for better range.

The current Ciaz is built on Maruti’s heartect platform and the 2024 Ciaz will continue to be underpinned on the same platform, no changes.

The current Ciaz has only one engine option, the 1.5-litre K15 Smart Hybrid Petrol which produces 103.25 bhp and 138 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed Manual with 20.65 kmpl fuel efficiency, and 4-speed Automatic with 20.04 kmpl fuel efficiency. It is possible that Maruti will retain this engine for the 2024 Ciaz except it’ll replace the 4-speed Automatic with 6-speed Automatic Gearbox with paddle shifters. Maruti looks like will definitely offer strong-hybrid tech in the 2024 Ciaz and therefore it’ll source the 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine from Toyota. The power and torque output will most likely remain the same as the Grand Vitara which is 91.18 bhp and 122 Nm of torque mated to eCVT Gearbox.
