New Grand i10 to Tata Altroz-Upcoming Cars in India in August 2019

The year 2019 has witnessed a number of car launches as well as two new brands entering the Indian market.First half of the year is already over and still the car makers have a number of cars stated to launch in the remaining months.So here is a complete list of upcoming cars in India in August 2019 along with their expected price, launch date and features.

Renault Triber

Renault Triber recently made a world premier in India.It would be priced very competitively in India.Prices will begin from as low as 4.4 Lakhs.Triber is based on modified version of CMF-A platform.

It has got a very tall and muscular stance with eagle shaped big size headlamp and tail lamp adding to the sportiness.Ground clearance is 182 mm and it rides on those funky looking 14 inch wheels.

Renault Triber would be offered in a total of 5 colour options and at a price tag at which it would be introduced, it would also be rivalling Grand i10, Maruti Swift.Step inside the car, and there is a premium looking dashboard with a 8 inch infotainment system nicely setup.Dual tone theme adds to the spacious of the cabin and makes it look much more brighter.

It is one of the most practical cars with 625 L of boot space in 5 seater configuration and 84 litres and 320 litres for 7 and 6 seater setup respectively.The fit and finish quality of material inside the cabin is also promising,

In terms of features, it gets rear parking sensors with camera, steering mounted controls, rear ac vents, push start stop button with smart car entry, dual glove box setup, LED instrument cluster with 8.9 cm MID and rear ac vents.

Underneath, it gets a 1.0 litre 3 cylinder petrol unit generating out 71 bhp of power and 96 nm of peak torque and is mated to 5 speed manual and AMT option.It doesn’t get option for Diesel engine.

Official bookings for the 7 seater will undergo next week with launch to take place in the month of August.

Kia Seltos

Kia Motors India will start their innings in India with their Seltos SUV.Seltos will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and MG Hector.It will be loaded with top notch features like 8 inch Heads up display, driver and co driver side powered and ventilated seats, wireless charging, UVO connect among others.

Some of the class safety equipments including 6 airbags, Traction Control, ESP, HLA, 360 degree camera with blind spot detection, front and rear parking sensors.Not only this, it comes available in a variety of engine options including 1.5 petrol and diesel along with 1.4 turbocharged petrol motor.All these are available with 6 speed MT transmission as well 3 different types of automatic options.

It will be launched in India on August 22.Bookings will begin in India on July 16 at a token amount of Rs. 25,000.Price will be between 11 Lakhs and 17 lakhs (Ex Showroom).

Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz is a premium hatchback which has been seen on Auto Expo 2018 in its concept form as well and was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019.Altroz will be based on tough, rigid and flexible ALFA platform.

It gets very stylish exteriors.There are those projector headlamps, Tata’s humanity front grille, very stylish 16 inch alloys and sloping roof line.At the rear, eyebrow shaped LED tail lamps are similar to that seen on Harrier.It will be premium on the inside.

The main highlight would be the 8 inch floating island infotainment system as well as semi digital instrument cluster which has been seen a number of times while testing.It will gets automatic air con, cruise control, steering mounted controls among others.

A variety of engine options will be on offer.There would be a 1.2 petrol engine derived from Tiago and another from Nexon which would be a detuned version.While the petrol engine of Tiago for Altroz will be limited to basic trims while that of Nexon would be available only for the top end variants.

Along with this, Tata will also be bringing 1.5 L diesel unit from Nexon, however, the power and torque figures would be kept slightly down for Altroz.Altroz is expected to be launched with manual transmission only.AMT would be made available on a later stage.There are also reports of Tata working on DCT automatic gearbox.

Tata Altroz will be launched in India in August 2019 and in terms of pricing it will be undercutting all its rivals including Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and recently launched Toyota Glanza.

Maruti Ertiga Cross

Maruti Suzuki has launched new generation Ertiga in India in November 2018.They have enjoyed great success with Ertiga MPV.Doing a sales of 7000 to 8000 units per month, it makes to the list of top 15 highest selling cars of India every month.Going by the success of Ertiga, Maruti is bringing sportier version of Ertiga in August 2019.

It will carry a different name plate compared to standard Ertiga and will be differentiating with Ertiga in a number of aspects including exterior, interior design and variant availability.It will get much sportier interior as well as exterior and will come offered in just a single variant.

On the exterior front, it will be getting tweaked front grille, sharper projector headlamps, new 16-inch very stylish alloys and rear spoiler along with sharp working on the bumpers as well.Interior will also receive updates as well.The main highlight will be the 6 seater configuration.It also gets leather seat upholstery as well.Maruti might also opt for different seat upholstery as well. 

Under the hood, Ertiga 6 seater will get a 1.5 L petrol engine producing 103 BHP of power and 138 NM of maximum torque.Although it comes in both manual and automatic options but for Ertiga Cross, it will be paired to only manual gearbox.It won’t be offered in the Diesel engine option.

Since Ertiga 6 seater will get a single engine option, it will be priced 50,000 premium over top end petrol trim.The expected ex showroom price of Ertiga Cross is Rs. 10.2 Lakhs.It will be launched in India on August 21, 2019.

2019 BMW 3 Series

BMW will launch the 7th generation 3 series sedan in India on August 21, 2019.Before this, BMW will be introducing their flagship cars including X7 and facelifted version of 7 series in India on July 25, 2019.BMW 3 series have been in India for a long time as of now and that’s why BMW will be giving it a considerable update.

On the outside, slight changes have been made to keep it modern and refreshing.The kidney grille gets much more bigger, daytime running lights are now in L-shape and in terms of dimensions, it will be much more bigger as well as lighter.

A number of features which were offered just in the top end trims would now be made available from the basic trims as well including 3 zone automatic climate control system, LED headlamps and others.The new generation 3 series will now also get fully digital instrument cluster as well.

Under the hood, it will be powered by 2.0 L petrol engine along with 2.0 L diesel unit which also is offered in the present generation BWM 3 series but now it will be tuned to offer much more power as well as torque.Price of BMW 3 series 2019 will go up slightly.

The new BMW 3 series will rival the likes of Audi A4, Jaguar XE and Mercedes Benz C Class.It will be launched in India on August 21.

2019 New Grand i10

Hyundai Grand i10 has been in the market for a long time as of now.The 1st generation Grand i10 also won Indian Car of the Year 2014 Award as well and is averaging at 8000 units per month.

Hyundai will bringing all new Grand i10 in India in August 2019 and to be precise the launch date in August 20.The next generation hatchback has been spotted testing a number of time with camouflage.

New Hyundai Grand i10 will be powered by 1.2 petrol and Diesel engine which will be carried over from the current generation of Grand i10.They will be made BS-VI compliant and will get AMT derived from Santro.It would be made available in both petrol and diesel variants.

The exterior would be reworked.Upfront, it gets sweptback headlamps, new front grille, triangular shared fog lamp housing, new set of 15 inch diamond cut alloys and bigger and good looking tail lamps.It will be based on all new platform to meet the upcoming crash test safety norms.

On the inside, there will be dual tone upholstery with steering wheel and instrument cluster design similar to that of Venue.A 8 inch infotainment system will sit in the centre of dashboard which will come with Android auto, Apple Carplay, mirror link and blue link connectivity.

It would get bigger dimensions which would translate into more space inside the cabin.The seats would be much bigger in size.The front seat will get adjustable headrests.

Grand i10 will get class leading feature of wireless charging, blue link connected feature and more safety equipments like high speed alert system, speed sensing automatic door locks as well as front seatbelt with pretensioner and load limiter.

Grand i10 rival the likes of Maruti Swift and Ignis, Ford Figo and Tata Tiago.
