Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to enter the 7-seater SUV market with a brand-new model based on its flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara. Tentatively called Maruti’s 7-Seater SUV, this upcoming vehicle combines the practicality of three-row seating with a fresh design approach inspired by Maruti’s existing models.
This 7-seater SUV draws inspiration from the Grand Vitara but showcases a unique front fascia reminiscent of the Brezza. Maruti’s new 7-seater SUV includes a black central grille element accentuated by a chrome bar, connecting seamlessly with the signature L-shaped LED DRLs.
Below the DRLs, Maruti’s 7-seater features a dual mini-cube LED headlamp layout and an updated bumper design with faux skid plates for a rugged, SUV-inspired look. The elongated side profile allows room for a third-row, enhanced by new 18-inch alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, and a flat-roof design that adds ample headroom for rear-seat passengers. At the rear, expect connected taillamps, a sportier tailgate, and a carbon-finish rear bumper.
Inside, Maruti’s 7-seater SUV is expected to offer a spacious cabin with design cues taken from the Grand Vitara, plus new feature additions. The dashboard may feature a free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment screen paired with a fully digital instrument cluster.
Seating configurations could include captain seats in the second row for 6-seater models, while 7-seater variants will likely offer a bench seat setup. Third-row passengers can expect added comfort with AC vents on the C-pillar and a panoramic sunroof that fills the cabin with natural light.
Maruti’s 7-seater SUV is anticipated to feature two engine choices:
Maruti’s 7-seater SUV will come loaded with advanced features, including Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree surround-view camera, front ventilated seats, powered front seats, a new 4-spoke steering wheel, and six airbags as standard. Additionally, it will offer hill descent control, multiple drive modes, and traction options.
Expected to launch in 2025, Maruti’s 7-seater SUV is set to compete with segment rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700, with an estimated starting price around Rs. 15 lakh. As Maruti aims to deliver a family-friendly SUV packed with high-end features, further details on specifications are awaited for official confirmation.
