Drawing design cues from the Soul [sold internationally], the Kia Clavis embodies the brand’s latest Opposites United design philosophy, both in India and abroad. In comparison to the Sonet, it promises greater practicality with a more spacious interior and generous boot volume by increasing the overall dimension of the SUV which is likely to be around 4.2 Meters in Length. Its exterior design showcases tall-stance, robust upright hood, and what appears to be an aggressive front grille.
The Clavis will be getting big feature like Level 2 ADAS given the front lower air intake grill can be seen with Radar Module, and camera in the windshield on top. Although the functions may be limited like instead of 17 Functions like in Seltos, it may end up getting 10 only. Other definite features include 360 Surround View Camera, Front Parking sensors, standard six airbags, Rear disc brakes, and possibly, Hill Descent Control. Notably, it will be the second compact SUV from Kia to come with a panoramic sunroof.
Jumping to the inside, the Clavis will boast a plethora of features such as dual 10.25-inch displays – infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity, and an Seltos-like fully digital instrument console, dual-tone dashboard, diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels although there could be an option for 17-inch wheels; an 8 Speaker Bose Sound System, Dual-zone Climate Control, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, front Ventilated Seats, Drive and Traction Modes, and more.
The Engine Options is expected to mirror that of the Kia Sonet such as the 1.2 L NA Petrol, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol, and the 1.5 L Diesel Engine. It’ll have multiple gearbox options – 5 Speed MT, 6 Speed IMT / AT / MT, and 7 Speed DCT. A Hybrid version is expected to arrive in future, most probably in 2025.
