Kia Seltos is set for a significant upgrade as the next-generation model prepares for a global debut in 2025. Spy shots of the SUV undergoing testing in South Korea have surfaced online, revealing hints of a modern design and enhanced features. This new iteration aims to elevate the Seltos’ appeal with advanced styling, hybrid powertrains, and a more premium feel.
The heavily camouflaged test vehicle showcases updates that align with Kia’s contemporary design philosophy. Redesigned LED headlights, featuring vertical daytime running lights (DRLs), suggest a bolder front fascia with a futuristic edge. The rear is equally impressive, sporting a striking LED tail light setup reminiscent of Kia’s electric vehicle lineup, particularly the EV5. These enhancements highlight a seamless integration of styling elements across Kia’s ICE and EV offerings.
The inclusion of advanced LED turn indicators further elevates the SUV’s safety and visual appeal, while the new alloy wheels add a sportier touch to its rugged profile. The silhouette indicates a blend of traditional Seltos cues with modern design language, hinting at a balanced yet innovative approach to its aesthetics.
Although the latest spy shots do not reveal the interiors, earlier leaks suggest that the 2025 Seltos will borrow design elements from Kia’s EV3. A two-tone cabin layout with vibrant accents is expected, enhancing the SUV’s premium vibe. Features like ambient lighting and a shift to a more sophisticated two-spoke steering wheel are also anticipated, adding to its futuristic appeal.
The next-gen Kia Seltos is set to expand its powertrain options with the addition of a 1.6-litre hybrid engine, delivering around 141 hp. This hybrid variant, reportedly similar to the Hyundai Kona Hybrid, may also offer an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, catering to enthusiasts seeking enhanced performance. In addition to hybrid technology, the SUV will continue to offer petrol and diesel engine options.
The New Gen Kia Seltos is expected to make its India debut in the 2nd half of 2025, most likely during the festive season. Upon launch, it will face stiff competition from segment leaders such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Tata Curvv. With its updated design, hybrid technology, and premium features, the next-gen Seltos aims to set new benchmarks in the compact SUV segment.
