We’re inching closer to the launch date of August 15th as Mahindra prepares to unleash a beast of an off-road SUV that is equipped with crazy amount of luxurious features, while also being fully focused towards offering an mind-blowing off-road experience. The Thar 5 Door will be available in multiple variants and today, we spied a mid-variant revealing new thing. This variant comes with LED Tail-lamps, Headlamps, and DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, but the spare wheels is not an alloy just steel wheel. The SUV will sport Reverse Parking Camera which is likely positioned below the wheel, on the bumper; rear windshield is seen with no rear wiper, and nothing else.

Other than that, the SUV boasts a sleek dashboard design reminiscent of its 3-door version. Spy shots reveal dual 10.25-inch screens – infotainment and for digital cockpit cluster, akin to the XUV3XO, two upholstery options – full black or full white. Air conditioning controls are managed via rotary dials, retaining similarity. The steering wheel similar to the XUV700’s. Moreover it gets driver armrests, a center console with storage, and front-row cupholders. On top, there’s a possibility of single-pane sunroof.
The Thar 5 Door will get three engine options which are taken from the Scorpio-N SUV, except the output won’t be the same, it’ll be lowered down by few percentage. The 1.5 L Diesel, 2.2 L Diesel and 2.0 L Turbo Petrol Engine will be the options available with 6 Speed Manual (MT) and Automatic (AT) during launch. The 1.5 L Diesel will have the Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) drive-type only, while the 2.2 L Diesel and 2.0 L Turbo Petrol will sport RWD and 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD) options.
Mahindra is expected to be launching the Thar 5 Door on August 15th, 2024. Upon on its launch, it’ll rival the 5 Door Maruti Jimny, and the upcoming 5 Door Force Gurkha. We expect Mahindra to keeping the starting price of the Thar 5 Door from Rs. 15 Lakhs.
