Ahead of Hyundai Creta EV Launch in Jan 2025, it’s set to receive another new rival in the form of Vinfast VF-e34. The electric SUV was spied undergoing tests in Maharashtra, and well let’s begin with what we can see from this fully camouflaged SUV.
When the EV was spied earlier, it wasn’t camouflaged, however new spy shot reveals it was completely covered, but it turns out it didn’t do a good job of covering as Vinfast design language on the EV was quite evident. So the exterior of the EV closely resembles the Vietnam-spec model as it features sleek LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs that forms a V at the center, while also spanning across the front body, boomerang-style fog lamp housings, and a prominent bumper. The smooth and curvy body panelling is designed to enhance aerodynamic efficiency.
The side profile stands out with thick body cladding, 5-spoke alloy wheels, door claddings, body-coloured door handles, chrome window trim, and body-coloured pillars. The ORVMs have integrated cameras, suggesting the presence of a 360° surround view and blind spot monitoring system. The rear of the SUV showcases edgy, wraparound taillamps in a connected format.
Although the interiors were not visible in the spy shots, it’s likely they are going to be resemble to the Vietnamese model. The SUV features a 10-inch vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch full-color instrument cluster. It also includes ventilated fabric seats, an air filter, USB ports, Wi-Fi connectivity, keyless entry, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
The Vietnam-spec model is powered by a 41.9 kWh LFP battery pack connected to a front-mounted single electric motor generating 150 hp and 242 Nm of torque. The VF e34 offers Eco, Comfort, and Sport drive modes, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 9 seconds, and has a top speed of 130 km/h. It has a certified range of 318.6 km according to NEDC standards, and with a fast charger, it can charge from 10% to 70% in around 27 minutes.
Vinfast VF-e34 should come with features such as panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 10-inch Infotainment, Powered Driver Seat, TPMS, 6 Airbags, 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, cooled glovebox, dual-zone climate control, electric parking brake with auto hold, and so much more. As for the launch, Vinfast has begin their plant construction earlier this year in February 2024, and plans to locally produced these SUVs. So, once the construction is completed, it’ll start with the production of the EV, so don’t expect the EV to launch before the second half 2025.
