Hyundai India has finally unveiled all-new Santro which is ready to make World Debut on October 23, 2018 in New Delhi.
Speaking at the unveiling of the All New Santro, Y K Koo, MD & CEO, HMIL said, “Today is a historic and proud moment for us, as India has unanimously chosen the name of their Favourite Family Car to be called The All New Santro. Since its first launch, Santro created history with its numerous segment-first innovations and became the Complete Family Car for millions of Indians.”
New Santro is 3,610 mm long, has a width of 1,645 mm with height of 1,560 mm.Wheelbase of the car is 2,400 mm while the ground clearance is 160 mm.Santro 2018 gets McPherson Strut suspension setup at front and Torsion beam at the rear.
2018 Hyundai Santro is built on all new platform which is made of 63% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) + High Strength Steel (HSS).New Santro comes with best in segment 3 years/1,00,000 warranty along with 3 years of road side assistance.Santro 2018 will feature an very silent cabin with low NVH levels thanks to Strong Body Structure and Acoustic Air Duct.
New Santro comes with new exterior and interior looks taking clues from Grand i10 and Hyundai XCent 2018.All new Santro gets a Modern Stylish Tallboy Design, Comfortable and Premium Cabin, New Age Technology, Customer Centric Safety, All Round Performance and Complete Piece of Mind, according to Korean automaker.
Talking about design, it gets Hyundai’s signature cascading front grille with chrome accents.The rear of the hatchback looks quite identical to the present Grand i10.Santro 2018 features first-in segment rear A/C vents which ensures rapid cooling of the cabin.New Santro also gets first-in segment touchscreen infotainment system which has a size of 7-inch supporting Android Auto, Apple Carplay, Mirror Link and Voice Recognition.The hatchback sits on 165/70 R14 tyres.
Coming to the powertrains, Santro gets 1.1-litre 4 cylinder petrol engine which outputs 69 HP @ 5,500 RPM with peak torque of 99 NM @ 4,500 RPM.This unit is paired to a 5-speed manual and Hyundai’s first AMT gearbox.Santro also comes with a factory fitted CNG option which will be powered by the same 1.1-litre petrol motor making 59 HP @ 5,500 RPM and maximum torque of 84 NM @ 4,500 RPM.Fuel economy of the petrol engine is 20.3 kmpl while the claimed mileage of CNG unit is 30.5 km/kg.
Other premium features list includes steering mounted controls, rear wiper and washer, rear ac vents, rear defogger, reverse parking sensors with camera, body coloured ORVM with turn indicators.Also, Santro gets Hyundai patent ‘Eco Coating Technology’ which prevents unpleasant odour to enter into AC evaporator.Santro will not get Automatic A/C and Push Start/Stop button.
Online bookings for Santro 2018 will begin tomorrow at a token amount of Rs. 11,100 for the first 50,000 customers.Price of the hatchback is expected to begin at Rs. 3.6 Lakhs for the Era base trim with the top-end Asta variant going upto Rs. 5.4 Lakhs.
