Simple Energy has launched its second electric scooter, Dot One, at an introductory price of Rs. 99,999 for the Bangalore only, and at this price point, it’ll compete with the Ola S1X.
Bangalore-based startup Simple Energy has introduced its second electric scooter, the Dot One, at an introductory price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) for customers who pre-booked the scooter in the city. This exclusive offer is valid until inventory lasts, and prices for new customers in 2024 are expected to increase slightly, with the official launch price set to be announced in January 2024. Bookings for the Dot One are open online.The Dot One has a 3.7 kWh battery pack which gives a claimed range of 151km and 160km in IDC. The Dot One is available in four colors – Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Azure Blue – and is accompanied by a 750W charger. Deliveries will initially begin in Bangalore first, and then expand to other cities in a phased manner.Simple One claims impressive performance for the Dot One, with acceleration from 0 – 40 KMPH in just 2.77 Seconds. The e-scooter boasts a 3.7kWh battery pack with electric motor generating 11.4 BHP, and torque output of 72 NM. Safety features include CBS (Combined Braking System) and efficient disc brakes, while practicality is addressed with a 35 Litre under-seat storage. The Dot One is equipped with specially designed tubeless tires on 12-inch wheels.In terms of competition, the Dot One is positioned in the same price range as the Ola S1 X, which is priced at Rs 90,000. The Dot One features a touchscreen instrument cluster with diverse functionality and app connectivity, adding to its appeal in the electric scooter market.
