Skoda Volkswagen had announced its participation in the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 where they’ll showcase numerous ICE and EV Models from VW Group Brands – Audi, Lamborghini, & Porsche. Now, they’ve showcased the Enyaq iV EV in India for the first time since it was spied doing testing.
Skoda was spied testing the Enyaq iV in India few months time ago and since there wasn’t any update or spy shots, but when they announced their participated for the BMW 2024, they confirmed Enyaq iV will be present for people to take a look. The electric SUV is based on the Volkswagen’s Group Born-electric MEB Platform which also underpin’s VW ID.4 as well as the Audi’s Q4 e-tron (both sold internationally).

While the Enyaq iV SUV measures 4649 MM in Length, 1827 MM in Width, 1616 MM in height, and features 2765 MM wheelbase & 585 Litre Boot Space in Dimensions, it’s still slightly smaller the Kodiaq SUV but the Enyaq iV is strictly restricted to two row SUV. Moreover, the EV has a drag co-efficient of just 0.27 cd.

Internationally, the Enyaq iV comes with multiple battery pack options – 50 kWh, 62 kWh, and 82 kWh. However, in India, we expect to get the range-topping 80x variant which comes with a 77 kWh battery pack with dual motor setup – one on each axle, resulting in power output of 261.5 BHP and 425 NM of torque which gives WLTP Claimed range of 521 KMs. Moreover, the EV does 0 – 100 KMPH acceleration in 6.9 Seconds at a top speed of 160 KMPH.
Apart from that, the EV can be charged from 0 – 100% in 13 Hours using a 7.2 kW Wallbox AC Charger where as if they offer the 11 kW Wallbox AC Charger, it’ll do the same in 7 Hours 30 Minutes. However, on a 50 kW DC Charger, the EV can be charged from 5 – 80% in 1 Hour 20 Minutes giving you 390.75 KM Range. While the same on a 125 kW DC Charger can be done in about 38 Minutes.
The Enyaq iV price announcement is said to be taking place in March 2024. Skoda will bring the Enyaq iV through a CBU route initially, however, there is a possibility that they may opt for the commuter local assembly at a later stage. The Skoda Enyaq iV upon its launch in India will rival the Kia EV6, and Hyundai IONIQ 5, and to ensure Skoda is competitive, they may position the EV between the IONIQ 5 and EV6 with an expected pricing of Rs. 55 Lakh.
