Mahindra has given a sneak peek of a new SUV that’s coming to the Indian market. The full unveiling and launch is set to happen later this month on April 29th.
New Mahindra SUV Teased: So, What is it?
The SUV in question here is the XUV300, or should I say, XUV 3X0. You may be wondering why did say that? Well, Mahindra has decided to give its sub 4-meter Compact SUV, the XUV300, a new name – it’s now called the XUV 3XO. The company is ready to launch this SUV in India. They released a teaser today, unveiling a new name, and glimpse of how the new SUV will look.

The XUV 3XO will compete with SUVs in its segment like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and newly launched, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor. Mahindra plans to launch other vehicles like the Thar 5 Door, and XUV.e8 later this year. There is a possibility Mahindra may rename these two SUVs the same way.
Competition from other SUVs like the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet has pushed Mahindra to update the XUV 3XO with new features to attract buyers with the new teasers showing things like new upholstery, a big 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment system, new wheels, fancy headlights and taillights, and other changes to the design.
Compared to the current XUV300, the XUV 3XO will feature a lot of design changes like new headlights with a C-Shape LED DRLs, and the back has new C-shaped LED tail-lights. There’s also a big LED light bar across the back connecting the tail-lights. The front and back bumpers are updated, and the registration plate is now on the back bumper instead of the tailgate. The inside of the car will have a new look too, including a sunroof likely to be a panoramic sunroof, dual dials for Air Conditioning, and other updates.
For safety, the new XUV 3XO will have things like 6 Airbags as standard while top-spec trims would get 7 Airbags, ESC, a 360 Surround View Camera and more. It’ll also probably have other safety features like the ADAS, but we’re not sure yet.
The engine options will stay the same as the old XUV300. It’ll have a 1.2 L Turbo Petrol Engine generating 108.62 BHP and 200 NM mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. Then there is the higher-spec 1.2 L Turbo Petrol Engine producing 128.73 BHP and 230 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual only. Lastly, there will be a 1.5 L Diesel Engine delivering 115.05 BHP and 300 NM of torque available with both options for 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox.
