Tata Motors had unveiled its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Harrier EV, slated for launch in late 2024, likely between October and November. Tata’s debuted it’s big-size electric SUV in the form of the new Harrier EV, built on the innovative Acti.ev platform, which was first introduced with the Punch EV. Positioned below the upcoming Safari EV in Tata’s lineup, the Harrier EV is equipped with an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) drivetrain. Set to hit the market in late 2024, likely between October and November, Tata promises an impressive range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge.

Taking cues from the concept showcased at the January 2023 Auto Expo, the Harrier EV retains most of its design elements, including a closed front grille with four horizontal lines, faux skid plates at the front and rear, connected LED DRLs, and vertically-split LED projector headlamps. Notable additions include new 19-inch alloy wheels and distinct EV badging. At the rear, the S-shaped LED tail-lamps and carbon black bumper remain intact.Inside, the Harrier EV is expected to mimic its ICE counterpart, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment system, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, a 4-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated Tata logo, and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit cluster. The center console hosts controls for drive shift and drive modes, along with an electric parking brake and cupholders.While exact technical specifications are yet to be revealed, it’s anticipated that the Harrier EV will measure around 4.6 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2741 mm. Built on the Acti.ev platform, it’s likely to be equipped with a 50-55 kWh battery pack, offering a single motor for front-wheel drive (FWD) and dual motors for All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) capability.Tata assures that the version showcased at the BME 2024 is production-ready, with ongoing testing before its launch.
