In the competitive world of compact SUVs, the absence of coupe SUVs has been noted. To address this, Tata and Citroen are introducing coupe SUVs to the market, aiming to attract more buyers. Tata recently unveiled the Curvv (though specs are still under wraps), and Citroen is teasing the Basalt, revealing exciting features along the way.
Citroen’s newest teaser highlights automatic climate control, adding another appealing feature to the Basalt. It’s likely that rear-seat passengers will enjoy roof-mounted AC vents similar to those in the C3 Aircross, given the coupe design lacks a sunroof.

The Basalt SUV will share its powertrain with the C3 Aircross, featuring a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine delivers 109 BHP and 190 NM of torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 205 NM with the automatic gearbox.
Citroen will officially unveil the production-ready Basalt on August 2nd. The price announcement is expected by the end of August or the first week of September 2024.
