Maruti Suzuki next month will launch the next-generation update of it’s affordable hatch, Swift. The new Swift will come with new exterior and interior updates along with new engine and some new features.
The new Swift sports a round sleek grille with chrome strip and integrated radar module; L-Shaped LED DRLs within the LED Headlamps, and a Mini Cooper-inspired clamshell bonnet. C-Pillar Door Handles return to their conventional place, alongside new 16-inch alloy wheels and “HYBRID” badging. At the rear, a dual-tone bumper and updated LED taillamps with C-Shaped elements contribute to a sportier aesthetic.

Inside, the Swift resembles recent Maruti models – Baleno, Brezza, Fronx, etc; such as new free-standing 9-inch infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto; dual-tone dashboard, new climate control panel with LCD display, 3-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, cabin complemented with fabric seat upholstery, USB-C and USB-A ports for charging, and 60:40 split rear seats.

In Engine Options, the new Swift will debut new Engine such as 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Z12 Engine producing 82 BHP, and 108 NM Torque mated to both 5 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. Maruti will also offer a CNG option with this engine except automatic transmission will not be available. This new engine compared to K12 version will be more fuel efficient.
The new Swift will come with features such as 9-inch Infotainment System with Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto, Wireless Charging Pad, Automatic Climate Control, Rear AC vents, 6 Speakers Sound System, and so much more. In Safety, it’ll have ABS with EBD, ESC, Traction Control, 6 Airbags, Front Discs, and Hill Start Assist among other safety features. However, there is a possibility Maruti may not offer 360 View Camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) to ensure that it doesn’t exceed the targeted pricing mark.
The current Swift on sale is priced between Rs. 6 – Rs. 9.03 Lakh. However, the new Swift upon launch is expected to be priced from Rs. 6.50 Lakh for base variant to Rs. 9.50 Lakh for the top variant. The Launch is taking place on May 9th, and upon its launch, it’ll compete against the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Maruti Baleno.
