The MG ZS EV has received a new rival from BYD, as the company launched the Yuan UP Vitality Edition, a new trim with a 401 km range, priced at Rs. 11.48 Lakh.
On July 18, BYD introduced a new trim to its Yuan UP small SUV lineup, called the Vitality Edition, priced at 99,800 yuan (Rs. 11.48 Lakh). This new trim features a range of 401 km and minor configuration differences from the existing versions. Previously, the BYD Yuan UP offered three trims priced between 96,800 and 119,800 yuan (approx. 11.14 Lakh to Rs. 13.79 Lakh).

The Vitality Edition retains the same dimensions as the other trims, measuring 4310 in Length, 1830 in Width, and 1675 mm height with a 2620 mm wheelbase, and is built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0. It runs on 16-inch wheels with 16-inch carbon steel rims.
The overall design continues the Dragon Face concept, with narrow LED headlights connected by a black trim featuring the ‘Yuan’ character, through-type LED taillights, semi-hidden door handles, and a floating roof. Exterior color options include Relaxed Green, White, Cool Gray, and Courageous Pink.
Inside, the Vitality Edition sports a beige and pink theme with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel, a 10.1-inch central control screen, and a W-HUD. The four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, 15W wireless charging panel, numerous physical buttons, and a crystal gear shift knob add to its appeal.
Powering the Vitality Edition is a 70 kW (93 BHP) and 180 NM AC permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a 45.12 kWh Blade battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 401 KM. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 KMPH in 12.9 seconds and supports fast charging, taking 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The charging port is located on the front fender, and the powertrain uses BYD’s CTB technology.
Key features include ISOFIX child seat support, in-car Bluetooth, in-car Wi-Fi, four speakers, an intelligent voice interaction system, digital car keys, remote control, and OTA updates. These configurations are a blend of the existing trims.
