Pioneer India has launched its latest VREC Dash Camera series, comprising four models: VREC-H120SC, VREC-H320SC, VREC-H520DC, and VREC-Z820DC. The launch event was held at Hotel Lalit in New Delhi, where live demonstrations were accompanied by discussions with executives and technology leaders from Pioneer India’s newly established Advanced R&D center.
These dash cameras are designed to record high-quality, wide-angle video footage of the road ahead and behind, ensuring round-the-clock protection while driving or parked. They also serve as a crucial tool in providing evidence during accidents or impacts, helping to combat insurance fraud by monitoring driving behavior through post-analysis of recorded footage. Beyond safety, these devices add value by capturing memorable moments during drives. The cameras are equipped with features like parking monitoring, continuous loop recording, and automatic recording during impact events, such as strong vibrations or sudden jolts.
Pioneer’s dash cameras are priced at Rs. 5,399 for the VREC-H120SC, Rs. 11,399 for the VREC-H320SC, and Rs. 18,499 for the VREC-H520DC. The price for the VREC-Z820DC is yet to be announced.
These devices can be accessed via Pioneer’s mobile app, which offers a seamless user experience. The app allows users to connect to the dash camera over Wi-Fi, browse and watch recorded videos, create travelogues, and adjust camera settings.
During the launch, Mr. Siva Subramanian, CEO of Pioneer Corporation’s newly formed Mobility AI & Connectivity Division, emphasized the significance of the new dash camera series. “This is the first of many innovations to come from our Advanced R&D center in India. As the automotive market and road infrastructure rapidly grow, the demand for automotive safety and security will only increase. Our pan-India distributor network, spanning 3000+ retail outlets and car dealerships, will ensure these dash cameras reach consumers across the country,” he stated.
Mr. Aniket Kulkarni, Managing Director of Pioneer India, reinforced the brand’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations in quality and performance. He highlighted that Pioneer’s R&D team is collaborating with Indian and global automotive OEMs on advanced mobility and infotainment solutions. The Advanced R&D centers in Gurugram and Bengaluru, established in August 2023, are focused on innovation for both Indian and global markets. He noted, “The dashboard camera market in India is expected to grow at an exponential rate of 15-16% from 2024 to 2030. Our new smart dash camera portfolio is aimed at capturing a significant share of this growth.”
Mr. Manish Bhasin, Vice President of Product and R&D at Pioneer India, shared the technology vision driving the new product line. “At Pioneer India Advanced R&D, our goal is to continuously push the boundaries of technology to make cars safer and more secure. These products leverage vision AI, image quality enhancement, and sensor analytics to monitor, detect, and record unforeseen events, as well as deter potential threats.
