After teasing the Exter few weeks ago with a render, Hyundai how now officially revealed the Exter SUV for India!
Hyundai Motors India has officially revealed the upcoming SUV for India showing the exterior design of the Exter and this SUV will be available in five variants!
Hyundai Exter Revealed – What you should know!
Hyundai Motors India has revealed the Exter SUV as in how it’s going to look in the real-world. Other than revealing the exterior look of the SUV, they also revealed that the Exter will have five variants on offer – EX, S, S(O), SX, and top-variant SX (O) Connect with the top variant name indicating that it’ll have the connected car tech as standard. Bookings for the Exter SUV has begin at an token amount of Rs. 11,000. The Exter we see in the image as color shade called, “Ranger Khakhi” that will be making it’s debut.

Hyundai confirmed that the Exter will be powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine which powers the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and even the i20. This 1.2-litre Kappa engine (naturally-aspirated petrol) produces 81.8 bhp and 113.8 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox. This engine will be E20 fuel ready as well. Hyundai also confirmed the Exter will be getting a CNG fuel option available right from the launch. The 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel (CNG) engine produces 67.72 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual Gearbox only.
Hyundai Exter – Exterior Design
From the front, it has flat bonnet with a big Hyundai logo on it and the three-tier design nose. It has H-shaped LED DRLs that are connected via a black strip that could possibly be a connected LED light bar for the top variant. The headlamps are square shape that are projector headlamps and could be an LED for top variants. Then there is the body cladding finished in matte black all over the car to contribute towards the Exter’s looks. Moving to the side, you’ll realize the SUV has boxy shape.
The doors seems to be big to accommodate easy in’s and out’s of the SUV. The alloy wheels, roof rails, and A and B-pillars has the dual-tone treatment. While Hyundai hasn’t revealed the exterior of the Exter, but what was seen from the leak images, it has an upright tailgate with the rear windshield slightly tilted, shark fin antenna’s at the top, small roof-spoiler, flat and tall rear bumper with dual-tone finished in matte black. The taillamps has an H-shaped in them with a big black panel with big Hyundai logo at the center, it could feature connected LED light bar for the taillamps in top variants.
Hyundai Exter – Rival and Launch
Hyundai Exter is expected to launch in late July 2023 or in August 2023 as the production for the SUV will begin in July 2023 and will rival the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger as it’s expecting to launch in the coming months and will be positioned above the Grand i10 Nios and below the Venue.
