Hyundai Motors is all set to launch the Exter SUV on July 10th with 5 variants on offer!

Hyundai Motors India will be launching the Micro SUV, Exter, on July 10th with 3 powertrains and 5 variants on offer, and here, is everything we know about the Exter.

Hyundai Exter – What you need to know!

Hyundai had already started accepting the bookings for the Exter SUV at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Now, we’ve some new information, the Exter SUV will be getting a Sunroof for higher variants – SX and SX (O) Connect, and across all the variants, six airbags will be standard because of the Indian Government norm that from October 1st, 2023, no carmakers will be allowed to sell cars in India until it has six airbags and three-pointer seatbelt as standard for all the variants. Hyundai had already started working and so far three models were updated, Exter is new to join the list.

The Hyundai Exter from the front has a flat bonnet with a big Hyundai logo on it and the three-tier design nose. It has H-shaped LED DRLs that are connected via a black strip that could possibly be a connected LED light bar for the top variant. The headlamps are square shape that are projector headlamps and could be an LED for top variants. Then there is the body cladding finished in matte black all over the car to contribute towards the Exter’s looks. Moving to the side, you’ll realize the SUV has boxy shape. The doors seems to be big to accommodate easy in’s and out’s of the SUV. The alloy wheels, roof rails, and A and B-pillars has the dual-tone treatment. The taillamps has an H-shaped in them with a big black panel with big Hyundai logo at the center, it could feature connected LED light bar for the taillamps in top variants.

Hyundai Exter will be powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine which powers the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and even the i20. This 1.2-litre Kappa engine (naturally-aspirated petrol) produces 81.8 bhp and 113.8 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual and 5-speed Automatic Gearbox. This engine will be E20 fuel ready as well. Hyundai also confirmed the Exter will be getting a CNG fuel option available right from the launch. The 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel (CNG) engine produces 67.72 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed Manual Gearbox only.

Some dealers are reporting that the Exter will start getting delivered by the week of July as many customers are opting for the top automatic variant. The Exter once it launches on July 10th will rival the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Citroen C3, and Renault Kiger.
