The Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 has arrived as the fifth model based on the brand’s popular 650 platform. With a scrambler-inspired style, this motorcycle has its roots in the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, offering rugged charm and a design suited for both urban and off-road adventures. Starting from Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), the Interceptor Bear 650 embodies a premium, stripped-down look with essential features for handling diverse terrains.
The Interceptor Bear 650 draws heavily from the scrambler aesthetic of the 1960s and 1970s, giving it a distinct, retro appeal while remaining functional for modern riders. Royal Enfield has refined the design, shedding non-essential parts to create a more minimalist look while equipping it with durable elements for rugged rides. This model features an exclusive paint scheme and a scrambler-style seat, setting it apart from its siblings.
It comes with all-LED lighting, enhancing visibility, and a full-color TFT display with built-in navigation, similar to the new Royal Enfield Himalayan. These features reflect a blend of classic styling with contemporary tech.
Under the tank, the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 is powered by a 648 cc parallel-twin engine, familiar to enthusiasts from the Interceptor 650. Tuned to produce 47 bhp at 7,150 rpm and a heightened torque of 57 Nm at 5,150 rpm, the Bear 650 gets an additional 5 Nm of torque over the standard model. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, this powertrain promises a blend of power delivery and smooth transitions, making it well-suited for both spirited city riding and comfortable cruising.
Built for diverse terrains, the Interceptor Bear 650 is outfitted with a 43 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front offering 130 mm of travel, while the rear setup includes twin shock absorbers with 115 mm of travel. A 320 mm front disc brake—seen on the standard Interceptor 650—provides effective stopping power. Equipped with switchable dual-channel ABS, the bike supports enhanced control on varied surfaces.
The Bear 650 rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear multi-spoke wheels fitted with dual-purpose tires for grip across both on- and off-road settings. The ground clearance is 184 mm, and with a seat height of 830 mm, it stands as the tallest model in Royal Enfield’s 650 lineup, providing a commanding view and stance for riders.
