Royal Enfield has unveiled the production version of the ShotGun 650 in Los Angeles and it appears to be shorter, and lighter than the sibling, Super Meteor 650.
Royal Enfield went ahead and revealed the production version of the new ShotGun 650 at Los Angeles. The ShotGun 650 was first showcased at the company’s Motoverse festival in November last month, and what you’re seeing above is the version that is available to everyone to buy. Unlike its preview version with intricate hand-painted details, the production variant offers simpler paint options: Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheet Metal Grey, and Stencil White.
The Super Meteor 650 and the ShotGun 650 both share the same 648cc parallel-twin motor engine which produces 46 BHP and 52.3 NM of torque. The difference between the two bike is the ergonomics, like the ShotGun 650 gets an upright seating position achieved through flatter handlebar, and mid-ser footpegs.
The Shotgun opts for an 18-inch at front and 17-inch at rear which is a complete different than the Super Meteor’s 19-inch front wheel, and 16-inch rear wheel setup. While suspension adjustments accompany the varied wheel sizes, both models maintain an upside-down fork/twin shock absorber suspension setup. Despite being 1 kg lighter at 240kg, the Shotgun boasts a seat height of 795 MM, a shorter wheelbase, and reduced overall length. However, it carries a slightly smaller 13.8 L fuel tank compared to the Super Meteor.
In terms of features, the Shotgun mirrors the Super Meteor, equipped with LED headlights, a Tripper navigation pod, and dual-channel ABS. Similar to the Classic 350, the Shotgun 650 offers flexibility with the option to be purchased as a single-seater or with a pillion seat.
