Simple One – What you need to know!

Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup is all set to launch it’s maiden electric scooter, Simple One, on May 25th. The prototype was first displayed in 2021 and was equipped with a 4.8 kWh battery pack and a 4.5 kW motor. They later announced there will third battery pack option which will offer claimed range of around 300km. When the prototype was displayed, it has telescopic fork suspension at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels.

The Simple One has disc brakes at the rear wheels and has an under seat storage of 30 litres. It has LED headlamps, and LED taillamps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, digital instrument cluster with 2GB RAM and has four ride modes on offer – Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. However, this was seen in the prototype and we can expect it to be slightly improved in terms of design, features, practicality, etc.

As for the pricing, Simple Energy had previously stated it’ll price it around Rs. 1.10 lakh (Ex-showroom), but it’s been 2 years since then and it’s possible it could demand a much higher price than what it has quoted.
