Skoda has launched Sportline trim for its premium flagship sedan, Skoda Superb.Skoda Sportline 1.8-litre TSI petrol variant is priced at Rs. 28.99 Lakhs while the 2.0-litre TDI diesel model is launched with a price tag of Rs. 31.49 Lakhs.
This Sportline model is fitted in range above the Style trim and under the top-spec Lauren and Klement variant.Colour Options for Sportline includes Bright Red, Sober White and Light Grey.
As the name suggests Sportline, it gets stylish and sporty elements as seen on Octavia VRS.On the exterior front, it includes glossy black grille and gloss black treatment on roof, wing mirrors, side skirts and spoiler, matte finish rear diffuser along with sporty chrome exhaust.Other prominent features include Sportline badging and 17-inch dual tone Drakon Alloys with a black and grey finish.
When we step inside, we find that interior of the Sportline trim looks similar to the cabin of Octavia RS.It sports an all-black cabin environment theme with contrasting red inserts.It also gets carbon decor the dashboard, a flat bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters, sporty seats in Alcantara leather, LED ambiente lighting and aluminium pedals.
It also gets six-airbags, ABS with EBD and ESC, hill hold and hill brake assist and traction control.These safety features of Sportline are derived from the top-spec variant of Skoda Superb.
Skoda is offering three-zone climate control system as standard on Superb along with a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options including Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirror Link.
Under the hood, it gets the same powertrains as the other variants.But one difference is that this trim is only paired to an automatic transmission.
The first engine is the same 1.8-litre TSI 4-cylinder petrol unit which outputs 180 BHP of power and 250 NM of maximum torque.The fuel efficiency of this motor is 14.81 kmpl.The petrol engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.The second one is the 2.0-litre TDI 4-cylinder turbo-diesel unit which makes 177 BHP and 350 NM of peak torque.This unit has a fuel economy of 18.66 kmpl.The diesel unit is paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Skoda Superb will rivals the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Honda Accord and due for an update, Toyota’s Camry.
