Skoda is all set to launch 3 new cars for the Indian Market which are going to be new gen update, re-launch, and an first-ever EV from the brand. In this article, we’ve listed all the details of the these 3 upcoming cars.
Skoda is set to re-introduce the 3rd Gen Superb for the Indian market since it was discontinued due to it failing to comply with BS6 norms. The 3rd Gen Superb will be powered by the updated 2.0 L Turbo Petrol producing 188 BHP and 320 NM of torque paired to 7 Speed DSG (or DCT) Gearbox. However, Skoda will be importing as CBU unit and will introduce L&K (Lauren & Klein) trim only. It has features like 360 Surround View Camera, New Infotainment System, active TPMS, 9 Airbags, ventilated and heated seats, ADAS with functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and more.Last month, Skoda had unveiled the 4th Gen Superb globally which saw it getting big exterior and interior changes, some new features, and powertrain options. There is no word when it’ll make its way to India but we expect to hear something about it near the end of 2024.
Skoda will be launching the Enyaq iV for the Indian Market which will be first EV from the brand, and this will be imported to India as CBU unit. The crossover EV is slightly smaller than the Skoda’s flagship three-row SUV, Kodiaq. The Enyaq iV ’80x’ top trim was spotted testing in India which has a 77 kWh battery pack and powered by two motors, one on each axle, and in total it produces 262 BHP, has a claimed range of 500 KMs, and can sprint from 0 – 100 KMPH in 6.9 Seconds. While nothing is confirmed at the moment, it remains to be seen if Skoda will offer lower trims or only a top trim for the Indian Market.
Skoda along the reveal of 4th Gen Superb also revealed the new 2nd-Gen Kodiaq which is styled on the “Modern Solid” philosophy as it features a very rugged, bold look over the 1st Gen predecessor. The 2nd Kodiaq is bigger in dimensions which means that 3rd Row space has improved while also having more space to store stuff. The interior widely looks very similar to the new 4th Gen Superb and now it looks premium and kind of luxurious as well while also having a mix of physical and touch-sensitive buttons. The new Kodiaq is powered by the 2.0 L Petrol and Diesel Engine along with a new plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid 1.5 L Petrol Engines. Moreover, Skoda offers 4×4 drivetype only for the Diesel Automatic. The new Kodiaq will be making its way to India in 2024 but we’ve no idea of what powertrain it’ll be equipped or is it going to be a complete CBU unit.
