Skoda is prepping a new SUV to rival the recently launched SUV, Mahindra XUV3XO. It has been spied undergoing tests on the streets of Maharashta while also being camouflaged. However, this time there’s subtle change that is noticed with this SUV.
The upcoming sub 4m SUV from Skoda is set to intensify competition in its category. Skoda has initiated the ‘Name Your Skoda’ contest, with options such as Kwiq, Kyroq, Kymaq, Kariq, and Kylaq being strong contenders. The SUV from Skoda takes inspiration from its Kushaq SUV like the front fascia showcases signature Skoda elements, including a distinctive moustache grille and split headlight design reminiscent of the Kushaq.

Twin-pod LED headlights, sculpted lower bumper, clamshell bonnet, and sizeable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators further accentuate the SUV’s appeal. The side profile reveals a robust shoulder line, thick C-pillar, roof rails, and body cladding, contributing to its crossover aesthetic. Moving to the rear, the design elements seen look similar to the Taigun, featuring striking C-shaped LED signature lights.
Previously when the test mules were seen, the indicators and reverse lamps were halogen, but in this test mule, they are LEDs. Getting to the inside, the layout is likely to be similar to the Kushaq but may feature different elements like instead of touch-sensitive panel for HVAC, it’ll get physical buttons and dials for control; infotainment system could be smaller than the 10.1-inch in Kushaq, and the centre console may be redesigned slightly to differentiate between both SUVs.
