Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep Rescues Bolero Pick-up Truck: How did that happen?
In a recent YouTube video, the host showcases a dramatic rescue involving a Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep and a Mahindra Bolero pickup truck. The video opens with the vlogger explaining that the Bolero became stranded in a flash flood while trying to cross a small river on their farm.
The footage then captures the 1969 Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep positioning itself to tow the stuck pickup. The vlogger’s father is seen directing farm workers on how to properly attach the tow rope to the Jeep’s hook, emphasizing the importance of making the rope easy to untie after the rescue. To improve the Jeep’s traction on the slippery surface, the vlogger’s father has four people sit in the rear seat of the CJ 3B, adding extra weight for better grip. With everything in place, the rescue operation begins.
Meanwhile, several men are pushing the Bolero, which failed to start due to water entering the air filter. Despite these obstacles, the Jeep manages to pull the pickup truck out of the river effortlessly.
The father and the son in 2019 were in the news with the same Jeep celebrating it 50th “birthday” of their 1969 Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep. The vehicle, originally purchased by the father, Mani Mundodi, has been part of their family for decades, carrying sentimental value. Over the years, the Jeep underwent several upgrades, including an engine replacement in 1990. To mark the occasion, the duo drove around their village, distributing sweets to over 400 people. The event was an emotional and symbolic gesture, reflecting the deep connection the family has with their vehicle.
Even Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group had reacted to the story of the father-son duo celebrating their Jeep’s 50th “birthday” with a heartfelt message. He acknowledged the immense responsibility of nurturing a brand that holds such significance in people’s lives. Mahindra expressed his hope that the current and future leadership of Mahindra Automotive would remain conscious of this responsibility, recognizing the deep emotional bonds that customers like Mani Mundodi and his son have with their Mahindra vehicles.
